Ferndale City Council is closely reviewing the contracts of recent hires Fire Chief Kevin Sullivan and Police Chief Timothy Collins. The two-year contracts are under a strict review due to the fact the city is struggling under severe budget cuts that caused City Hall office hours to be reduced to four days a week and employee layoffs.
Contracts for the chiefs include a $99,008 salary for Collins and an $85,000 salary for Sullivan, medical insurance, pensions, cars, and roughly 60 days off in holiday, sick, personal, and vacation days. Collins receives a $206 COLA payment quarterly and annual longevity pay while Sullivan would receive $4,450 longevity pay.
