There are ways to do your plane tickets that can make your life easier. For example, try printing out the child’s boarding pass before the 24 hours of actually boarding the plane at home. This can save time. Plus, the child will have less time getting irritated while waiting for getting tickets at the airport. Also book the trip for earlier in the day when the planes tend to be on schedule more so that you get fewer delays. Ask the ticket agent to look at the child’s ticket to make sure that he or she was not selected for random searches. You can ask for the child to be deselected so that you do not have to put the child through that process.
Airport Security can be a scary thing for a child to go through. Discuss it with the kid that is flying beforehand if he or she is of age to understand the concept of airport security. Warn the child that they will have to let their precious things go through the scanner. Also explain to them that sometimes a TSA agent may have to physically touch them in order to pat them down. Make sure you dress the child right to go through airport security. Have them wear slip on shoes, and make sure they are not wearing any metal.
