If you live in a small space it can be a real challenge to find enough space for everything. Living in a little space makes putting away linens, and towels after the laundry is done a real challenge. Below you will find several tips, and suggestions for creating extra storage space within your home.
If you visit your local store you should have no problem finding easy to install shelves. Before you visit the store you will want to find a nice spot on the wall. Use some measuring tape, and find the space on the wall that will work best. Most shelves are very easy to install, and you can easily fold sheets, and towels, to fit nicely on the shelf. I have found that when you are using shelves, you fold items by size. The larger items go on the bottom, and you work up to the smaller items which will be on top. If they are nicely arranged you will find that it also a nice added touch to your home décor.
Try a little thrift shopping and see if you can find an old cabinet that you can touch up a bit. I have found that local thrift stores work well for this. If you can not find anything at your local thrift store, you can hunt around at local garage sales. You will be surprised at the nice things you will be able to find for nearly nothing. I would recommend that the first thing you do is measure the area that you plan on using for the cabinet. This way when you see one, you will be able to measure it and make sure that it fits nicely in your home.
Divide by room
Why not consider putting each item in the room that will use it. For example you can put your kid’s towels and bed linens for their room, into their closets. You can install some shelves in top of their closets, and put the sheets and blankets there. If everyone’s items are in their room, it will be easier to organize, and storage will be simpler as well.
Under Sink Storage
Last but not least come under the sink storage. You can put a few plastic bins under the sink, and place towels, and extra linens in there. Be sure to put all of the tops on the bins as well. This way if you have any problems with the sink leaking, you will not have to worry about it.
