You may feel like there is nothing that you can do about stress. You may not know that there are things that you can do to cope with stress, or prevent it all together. Here are some tips that will help you handle stress.
#1 Take a long bath
Take a nice warm soothing bath. Light your favorite scented candles all around the bathroom. Be sure to add lavendar scented bath oil to your bath. Lavendar is known for it’s relaxation and to ease stress. Stay in the bath tub as long as you want. The longer you stay in such a peaceful spot all by yourself the better.
Meditation is a great way to reduce stress, and relax. You may not know how to meditate, but it is actually very easy to learn. Go to a quiet room and sit or lay down. Close your eyes and begin to focus on your breathing as you, inhale and exhale. Begin to imagine that you are in a peaceful, beautiful place. For example, pretend that you are on a beach, or in a beautiful field full of flowers, imagine any place that will relax your mind. For more information on meditation click here.
#3 Recognize what stress’s you out
Sometimes stress is unavoidable, however sometimes it is avoidable. Certain people, things, and situations can stress you out. You can avoid becoming stressed simply by recognizing what makes you stressed. After you have recognized what stress’s you out, think of ways that you can resolve these issues, or avoid them. If someone constantly stress’s you out, simply keep your distance from that person, or avoid them all together. If you feel that you have to much on your plate, make a list of your schedule, daily tasks, and responsibilities. After you have done this, read the list, and choose what you need to do, and drop certain things that you don’t truly need to do. By doing this, you won’t have such a full plate. For other things that cause you to stress, simply think of an alternative.
Believe it or not, exercise is a great way to reduce stress. When you exercise, your brain releases endorphins. Endorphins are your body’s “feel-good” chemicals, they make you happy, and reduce stress. Exercise also acts as a distraction. When you are participating in a physical activity, it takes your mind off of your problems, and causes you to focus on the activity. To get these benefits from exercising, you don’t have to do a hardcore work out. Simply taking a walk, or doing yoga will give you the same benefits.
