Trying to lose weight is challenging by itself and near impossible when working a desk job with long stressful hours. One of the biggest keys to losing weight is constant activity, followed by a healthy diet. Both of which are near impossible when stuck at a desk, then top it off with eating a chocolate bar to calm down from being stressed out.
Use bouncy ball at your desk rather than chair. This will help you sit up straight, which by itself gets the blood circulating and calories burning. By having a good posture will help relieve some stress which may build up throughout the day at work.
Stomach and leg muscles will also get a workout throughout the day, because they will be working harder than if sitting in a normal desk chair. It takes a lot of muscles to balance on the ball all day long.
Park as far away from the office as possible. The walk into work will accomplish two things. One give you time to get your mind together before walking into the busy office. Two burn more calories than if you parked right in front of the door.
Take the stairs instead of elevator. If the job is getting stressful, the last thing a work wants to get caught in the elevator with a complaining co-worker or nagging boss. Take the stairs will avoid this while burning those additional calories.
Eat a sensible lunch and avoid snacks. Instead of heading to a local burger joint and eating lunch, pack a salad, tuna pita or other sensible low calorie lunch. If there is a need to snack, try grabbing a small handful of nuts or sip on a warm cup of tea with some lemon.
Keep moving. By continually moving and getting the blood pumping at least once an hour will help with weight loss. Some suggestions include getting up and walking to the bathroom, standing up to do some work or going to the kitchen to refill your water. By just getting up and moving every hour will help burn calories little by little throughout the day.
If day is getting overly stressful, getting up once an hour to walk around the office will help you get away from what is stressing you out while burning calories.
