3. Sarah Louise Kerrigan (from the StarCraft franchise)
Described as a soldier with audacious and courageous qualities, Sarah Kerrigan was never one to disappoint. Despite the fact that she was altered with neural implants to increase her combat abilities, she never withdrew her hate for the Zerg and the Confederacy. But as time came and passed, the Zerg overcame her, though she never lost her aggressive nature. And even became the most feared and manipulative character in the galaxy. And that takes something.
4. Samus Aran (from the Metroid franchise)
Breaking through as a female in a male-dominated clique, Samus is one bounty hunter who sports a powerful armor suit complete with missiles and other artilleries. Fending for herself at a young age, being orphaned and without protection, Samus made the choice to train as a warrior and become the most powerful bounty hunter there could be. She received aid by the Chozo race of aliens who took her in, and now she fights for the Galactic Federation tracking down pirates and metroids. Oh, and of course getting the job done.
5. Lara Croft (from the Tomb Raider franchise)
As an icon receiving both positive and negative feedback from the public, Lara Croft has still come up to the top as a female with passion for what she does and is able to accomplish. As a master archeologist, Lara is an athletic woman who adventures in search of treasures and other objects in ancient tombs and temples around the world.
6. Sheva Alomar (from Resident Evil 5)
She makes her first appearance in the fifth installment of Resident Evil as an operative of the BSAA in West Africa. Sheva is a powerful soldier who becomes Chris Redfield’s new partner, due to the disappearance of Jill Valentine in the previous games. Not only is she a tough addition to the one-man team, but she also exhibits intellectual strength to help end the evil doings of the Umbrella Corporation.
7. Jill Valentine (from the Resident Evil franchise)
In terms of her other counterparts in the Resident Evil titles, Jill is described as a woman who is seen as a tough role model. As a member of S.T.A.R.S., she develops her strong personality into someone who cares for those around her and fights for their sake.
8. Jade (from Beyond Good and Evil)
As her and her partner expose the government’s corruption in her fictional world, Jade uses her photographing skills to her advantage. She is essentially a “real person” as opposed to a sex icon, and her values and personality in this game are truly remarkable. Her persona and all of the game’s features are said to have received great feedback from the female gaming audience and are said to have pulled the game together great.
9. Lilith (from Borderlands)
She is named a ‘Siren’ for her unique abilities to conduct ‘phase-walk’ and ‘shockwave blasts.’ Her weapons of choice are primarily weapons complete with elemental characteristics to induce even more damage to an enemy. Lilith’s personality is strong-willed and haughty, but to those around her, she is definitely not one to mess with.
10. Chun-Li (from the Streetfighter franchise)
We all know her well; she is the most dominant figure in the Streetfighter series and has amazed us all with her fighting skills. She is a powerful warrior who puts herself up to challenges of all sorts. Among loyal fans and die-hard enthusiasts, she is known as the “First Lady of Fighting Games,” Chun-Li has paved the way for future female protagonists in countless video game titles to come.
