Buying gifts for a father can be tough for kids. They can only give so many ties and home made crafts from school. Want to wow your dad this year for his birthday (or the holidays too)? Below find some fun, unique, great gifts your children (of all ages) can give to their dad.
1. Photo Album with Pictures – A Chronological History
Give your dad a fun treat. If you are able, track down photos from his childhood (if you are able, ask Grandma or Grandpa), pictures of he and your mom from before you were born, and pictures of you as a baby with him as well as some pictures from present time. He will love that you made it, it was creative, and you will be thrilled to see how much all the pictures mean to him. Photo albums can be bought at a lot of places and for all prices.

2. Journey Journals
These are so sweet. They are journals that already have questions and suggestions for your dad to fill out about his life. Family history, adventures, dreams and more. He can write down all this information, which can bring back great memories for him, and eventually, it will be something you can share with him when he gives it back to you.

3. Gift Card(s)
A lot of people find these impersonal, however, if you get creative with it, it can be a lot of fun and will be very much appreciated. Your dad has favorite places, whether it be an electronics store, sports store or venue. One suggestion is make it “A Night Out With the Family” and get him three different gift cards (the amount is up to you), one for his favorite restaurant, one for a special venue (like Dave and Busters, a local sports game or a theater) and then one for ice cream after-wards. The gift(s) is/are for him, but he gets to enjoy it with you which is the real gift.
4. Personalized Gifts
It’s always nice to have our favorite things personalized. Does your dad travel a lot? Buy him personalized luggage. Dad ‘s wallet probably gets a lot of use, so why not have his initials put on it? This is a fun way to show him you care by personalizing the things that are important to him like a watch he wears a lot or a lighter if he smokes a pipe or a whistle if he is a coach. These gifts can be more pricey, so this could be for a special birthday or anniversary.
5. A Card Written By You
No matter the age, a personal card written by you is a wonderful gift. Every parent knows that. We do not need gifts, you are our gifts (even when you drive us batty!), and we appreciate anything you do to let us know you love us. For an adult-child a poem is a great sentiment or a story or memory about you and your dad is also a wonderful present. For a young child, maybe one that has just learned to write, a card written by your hand, will be very special.
