The Top Chef winner 2010 did not see it coming last night. In fact, the whole Top Chef winner 2010 announcement defied the norm, since the winner was announced right off the bat in the last act. Instead of naming the runners up first, or drawing out a few more minutes of suspense, the winning name was announced first and foremost in the last segment. When Kevin Sbraga’s name was mentioned first by Padma Lakshmi, he had to be fearful. Instead, he was named as the Top Chef winner 2010 for the DC season.
The final three competitors made up a New York and New Jersey trinity, with Kevin Sbraga representing New Jersey. New York finalists Ed Cotton and Angelo Sosa were also lurking, as the three prepared to make “the most important meal of their lives.”
In their last chance to be the Top Chef winner 2010, the finalists had to make a four-course meal with vegetables, fish, meat and dessert. Although the season was set in D.C, the end took place in Singapore, so they had to get proteins from the Singapore markets.
But one contender was in big trouble early, as Angelo got sick before the final showdown. However, he was able to get himself up for the big day in spite of his aches and pains earlier. The last competition to determine the Top Chef winner 2010 went on as scheduled, with everyone involved, although Angelo and Ed made some key errors.
Ed was knocked down a peg for his dessert, which he was iffy on from the start. As for Angelo, his palate cleanser hampered his meat course. Kevin garnered the least amount of complaints, and appeared to be on his way to being the Top Chef winner 2010.
However, he was still thrown for a loop when it was made official sooner than usual. Tom Colicchio called it the best reaction ever for a winner, as he declared that “Jersey’s taking that belt home.” With the victory, Kevin will now head off to start his own restaurant in Philadelphia with his $125,000 prize.
Still, some on the Web may have found out the Top Chef winner 2010 early. Bravo posted a reunion show clip earlier in the day, which turned out to give away Kevin’s victory. Nowadays, it is easier to get early word about a reality show winner, but usually not with accidental help from the network.
Nevertheless, the official Top Chef winner 2010 announcement brought an end to another big year for the new reality Emmy champion. Now, rumors will start on what next season will bring, with early reports that all-stars will get together in New York.
