If you are a SUV fan then you will enjoy the new top SUVs released fall 2010.
5. Suzuki Grand Vitara
The Suzuki Grand Vitara is the least expensive of the SUVs on this list starting at only $19k.One reason the Suzuki Grand Vitara is so inexpensive is because it is a compact SUV. The Suzuki Grand Vitara comes with lots of options. It offers all kinds of driving modes including an all-wheel-drive system that has a limited slip differential that should give you the best off-road experience of any compact SUV.
The Suzuki Grand Vitara has lots of safety features. Among the safety features included in the Grand Vitara are side-impact and side-curtain air bags with rollover protection. Anti-lock brakes come along with an electronic brake force distribution and electronic stability control.
Being a compact SUV the Grand Vitara may not have the same power as other SUVs with a small 4 cylinder 160hp engine and a max 6 cylinder 230hp engine. The small engine is the Grand Vitaras only major downfall.
4. Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged
Having such a large price tag you would expect the Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged to be a great car. At 94K the Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged is a good SUV but it is not a great value. Two problems that the Range Rover Supercharged has is it is not as fast as some other SUV models. When you buy a supercharged car it is for power and speed and while this car has that it does not have as much as other models. Not only is it not as fast even with its impressive 510hp engine it is also ugly. It is not the ugliest boxiest car on this list.
The Range Rover Supercharged does have some advantages such as Land Rover’s Terrain Response system that adjusts the suspension based on driving conditions. The All-terrain Dynamic Stability Control which is an electronic stability control system which works while driving on and off the road. These systems along with side-impact, side-curtain and driver’s knee air bags makes this car safe.
3. Jeep Grand Cherokee
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a classic SUV model. This falls new model is improved from the already great tradition of its predecessors. Some of the upgrades from previous models include more luxury being added. Some of this luxury comes in the form of more upgrad options. One really nice change that has been added is a new rear that gives passengers more legroom and more cargo space.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers so much at a low price starting at 30K. The Cherokee offers many of the safety features that the other SUVs have such as anti-lock brakes, as well as electronic stability and traction control. The Jeep Grand Cherokee’s is a perennial SUV favorite that will give you a fantastic ride on and off the road.
2. Ford Escape Hybrid
The Ford Escape Hybrid gets great gas millage and has a capless refueling system. Th Escape gets 34mpg city and 31mpg highway. This fuel efficiency does not come by limiting the cars power with a 155hp engine puts it on par with compact SUVs.
The Escape has the standard safety features that the other cars on the list have but it also has the added safety of rollover sensors. The biggest thing the Escape has going for it is being a hybrid. The Escape is something in between a compact and a full size SUV. If you want to go off
road then the Escape will work but it is not the SUV you are going to want if you are going anywhere rough.
1. Lincoln MKT
Priced at 44K the Lincoln MKT is a reasonably priced car but thinks its a luxury car. The MKT even looks like a Limo which is probably because of its Lincoln heritage. Direct injection and turbochargers give you power but also give you reasonable fuel efficiency for an SUV at 13mpg city and 23mpg highway.
The inside is luxurious including standard leather interior. Rain sensing wipers are a nice feature that have yet to become standard on most cars and is something you see on luxury cars. Some added luxuries include heated and cooled seats. Power adjusted pedals seem a bit over the top though. Again the Lincoln MKT may not be the best SUV to take off road. What the MKT is about is luxury and a great value. Unlike the Ford Escape the MKT would not be confused for a compact SUV.
These are the top SUVs released fall 2010. While you may not like agree with all the list you are sure to agree with some of these. This fall 2010 should be a good time to take a trip in a new SUV.
