There are some things that you can not live without when it comes to newborns. The must have list includes things like strollers, cribs, bottles, diapers, and wipes. There is however some things that expectant parents think they need but only find out later that you don’t need much for newborns. It is very beneficial to keep in mind that newborns don’t really need much. Why not save your money for when your children get older, and only get what they need when they are newborns. Below you will find a list of things that you need for your newborn. Many of the items listed can be purchased once your toddler starts crawling or walking. Most of these items you will not nee for the first year. Some of the items listed can also be substituted for other items.
Instead of purchasing the baby washcloths sets you can purchase the large bundle washcloths. You will find that these washcloths are made of the same materials. If you prefer to use organic materials, you can still purchase the large bundles of organic washcloths and use these. You will find that you end up paying half the price and you can still get the nice colored washcloths that you desire. If you have a baby registry at a place like Wal-Mart you can put down a bulk amount of these washcloths.
Although these wraps are nice they are on the pricy side. Instead of using the swaddle me wraps you can just do things the old fashioned way. You can use a regular receiving blanket and wrap your child up in the blanket the same way that they do in the hospital. IF you ask the nurses how to use a regular baby blanket to nicely swaddle the baby they will be more than happy to show you. The best part is that instead of paying over thirteen dollars for these special swaddle me blankets you can bulk order the receiving blankets.
It never seems to amaze me the items that they will create just to get expectant moms to spend more money. Of course having a fancy nursing cover is really nice to have in public, but the same can be done with a regular blanket. There is a way that you can secure the blanket on you in order to keep you and the baby completely covered. Or if you don’t want to use the blanket you can very easily make your own cloth nursing cover. This is a fun project you can do while waiting for the baby to arrive.
Sippy Cups and spoons
You will also not need a sippy cup and a spoon until your toddler is a toddler. The first year of your child’s life you will not need these items. It is best to spend the money initially on something else and then save for these additional items later. Since these items are not expensive you should have no problem purchasing them at a later date.
