Update: A Qantas Airbus A380 has made an emergency landing in Singapore on Thursday. Straits Times reports “…smoke coming out of its underside…was quickly surrounded by six fire engines” (read Troubled Qantas jet lands)
“One of the engines on the left wing looks blown off. It is black and has jagged edges,” a reporter said.
The Huffington Post reported the troubled Qantas jet: “Qantas says one of its planes will make an emergency landing after one of its engines shut down while flying over Indonesia” (read Indonesia Plane Explosion Reported).
Qantas spokeswoman Emma Kearns says one of four engines on the plane flying from Singapore to Sydney shut down. Kearns says the plane can safely fly on three engines, but that the pilot will land the plane in Singapore to be safe. (see Huff Post link).
Kearns also said there were no reports of any injuries, and that there were no reports of an explosion on board the flight.
