There have been a few instances where love and work combine to make costars fall in love with each other. We have seen it many times over the years, where two people work together on television and then begin dating or getting married. This weekend, another love story was formed, as costars of “True Blood” got married in a summer ceremony.
According to the Los Angeles Times, “True Blood” stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer got married Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010. Paquin and Moyer’s wedding was held at a private residence in Malibu, Calif.. Paquin is 28 and Moyer is 40, which apparently goes to show that age is only a number. Moyer stripped down to board shorts and jumped into the Pacific Ocean as Paquin and guests cheered. Moyer has two children from a previous relationship, which will make Pacquin a stepmother. The two have been dating for about two years, keeping it a pretty quiet relationship the whole time.
The pair’s nuptials are similar to when Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter got married; they are also costars. Hall and Carpenter play brother and sister on “Dexter,” which is a Showtime television series. According to San Francisco Chronicle, Hall and Carpenter got married secretly in Big Sur, Calif., on New Year’s Eve. They had been dating for about a year and a half before they decided to get married. Hall and Carpenter made their relationship so secret that even their family did not know they were getting married. A private ceremony between Hall and Carpenter made New Year’s Eve a night to remember. Hall was 37 and Carpenter was 29 when they got married, which is similar to Paquin and Moyer. Hall and Carpenter are very close on the television show, and that might have led to their relationship in reality.
The people who are on the set of “Dexter” have nothing but happiness and excitement for the two costars. The wedding and marriage has not interfered with the show at all, and even makes the set more enjoyable. This leads me to believe the Paquin-Moyer wedding will not affect the chemistry of the characters or the success of the show. Typically, you can distinguish between business and personal matters when you are married and work together. Since “Dexter” will be returning to television for another season in the fall, it seems that the two costars have found the balance of love and work.
“True Blood” is a series that is going to continue down the road of fame, and the wedding will not interfere with that. Paquin and Moyer have been dating for two years, which means they already have been working together as more than just friends. Since they have been together for a while, I am sure they know the difference between personal matters and business matters. I think this will actually make the show even better and bring the cast together more. Working together and being together can be difficult, but, if you find the right balance, it can work out. I see Hall and Carpenter have strengthened their relationship since they got married, and I expect the same from Paquin and Moyer.
