With the increasing threat of terrorism, the Transportation Security Administration,(TSA) is ruining the family values and safety that many and maybe all parents have tried to teach their children. The new pat downs and the threat of criminal charges for refusing a pat down or “Opt Out,” as some call it, are going against everything we teach our children about not touching people in certain places and staying safe.
From the beginning of time, parents have done their best teaching their children, especially the female children, to not let anyone touch you in your private areas. No matter what reason they were given, they have learned that grown people, other than your parents and doctors, do not touch children in their private areas and vice versa. But now the TSA is tearing those rules apart for some children.
Picture a young girl between the ages of 10 to 16. At this time some young ladies start to grow body parts that will separate them from a child into a woman. Most parents have taught their daughters that they should never let anyone touch them. And for no reason should they touch someone else in a sexual manner. Whatever the reason given to them, it was a thing that you do not do.
This young girl, who is abiding by the rules, comes under the eye of some airport TSA agent and insists that she needs a pat down. Okay even though an adult female will grope your daughter and not a man, a stranger should not be touching her. It confuses the child. All she has heard during her short life was to avoid those situations and now the federal government makes her subject herself to a stranger rubbing all over her body. It is humiliating, and plain wrong. How damaging could that be to some child that freaks out while being searched? We are concerned with the safety of our airlines, but what about the mental state of this little girl? There must be a better way. Israel seems to have a good thing. If we continue to punish the very people that we are trying to protect, then we should give up and let the terrorist run the world.
There is much controversy over this subject. But what I do know for sure is that if it was me or you running the back of your hand up the inner thighs of some young girl all the way up to her crouch, and then place your hands inside of her bra, we would be in jail. We would be there for a long time and when, and if we were released, we would be given a card that states that we are a sexual predator and would have to go through periodic checks by local law enforcement. What makes it right for TSA agents to touch anyone for a simple plane ride?
Parents will now have to explain to their kids why this is okay. I have a suggestion that might help. President Obama and Janet Napolitano and their family should make a video. Like a training video. They should explain to the children why this is necessary for our safety and all of their family should go through the procedure on video to show the children that this act is okay. I might have a better view of this procedure if I watched Michelle Obama and her two daughters get the pat down treatment from some stranger in an airport line. If our leaders feel it is necessary to pat down people in this manner, then they should do this for our country. That is what leadership is all about isn’t it? You must lead the people instead of threatening them to do something that goes against their beliefs. Instead all Cabinet members and higher-ranking politicians are exempt from having to go through this procedure. What does that tell the American people?
