The reason why Lisa wanted a clothing store is because she wants to express herself through fashion and she has a shopping addiction. They came up with the name “Belle Gray” for their clothing store by using the middle names of each of their two girls.
Every year they do a party for their anniversary to raise money. Harry wants nuts and bolts party. He wants cheep wine for the party, but Lisa wants Champaign and caviar.
Lisa and her daughters are baking cookies for a project going on at school raising money for Breast cancer and Saint Jude’s. They make designer cookies with designer dresses on them and price them at $10.00 a piece. Harry says they should make a large quantity of brownies and sell a lot of them instead for a lower price. He says, “Who pays $10.00 for a cookie?”
They decide to approach Heather and Cathy, their two main employees, and bounce some ideas for the party off of them. When Harry and Lisa arrive at Belle Gray’s to talk to them about the party, they have already received a notice from the Landlord that if they don’t pay the rent in three days the doors will close. Heather and Cathy are really freaked out. Heather tearfully tells Harry that she got an offer to work for another clothing store.
Harry says he needs to strike a deal with the Landlord or the store will close. If they don’t come up with the rent in three days, the landlord will lock the doors to Belle Gray. Because Lisa is looking for a new acting part and Harry is trying to launch his acting career again, they don’t have enough money in their personal finances to cover the cost without sacrificing their home.
Lisa takes Heather and Cathy to the spa to keep their moral up so that they don’t quit Belle Gray. Without Heather and Cathy Belle Gray would not be a success.
While Lisa is at the spa Harry gives his handyman some painting and other fix up projects to work on before the party. He wants it to look like it did when they first opened it.
Harry then returns home while Lisa is at the spa to make brownies for the bake sale to replace Lisa’s high priced cookies. Harry feels that the cookies Lisa made with the girls won’t sell because they are over priced at $10.00 a piece.
Lisa wants to set up her girls with some guys because at the spa she found out that they each are lonely and need a man in their lives. She goes to her local workout gym and asked a few eligible bachelors to come to the party and meet some girls.
The bake sale for breast cancer goes over well and people buy the designer cookies for $10.00 a piece. The brownies didn’t sell quite so well.
Harry says that Belle Gray will survive. Lisa is afraid that they will shut Belle Gray’s doors if they don’t make money at the party. Lisa says that being a small business owner is tougher than acting and even the rejection that comes with it.
Harry talked to the Landlord but he would not budge. Harry and Lisa are hoping that the party will sell clothes.
The party is on and the cameras are rolling everywhere. They have a very large turnout with several famous people who worked with Lisa. Harry tells everyone at the party during a toast that one day Lisa came to him and said, “I love fashion and I love shopping for clothes so much that if we don’t open a store and get clothes for wholesale, we will go broke.”
Harry and Lisa find out that they did well at the clothing sale and they made enough money to pay the rent. Belle Gray is saved at least until the rent is due again.
Heather makes the announcement that she is not going to take the other job. She has decided to stay at Belle Gray. This episode ends on a happy note!
Even though Harry and Lisa are opposites, they still manage to learn from each other and strengthen their marriage. Lisa says this whole Bella Gray issue was a great teacher for the girls to work hard, never give up and believe that you can do it.
