These are my original ideas for activities and games at a “Twilight” Halloween birthday party for girls, plus what to serve and how to dress and decorate. I’m a huge “Twilight” fan and I would love to attend this party! For starters, watch the first “Twilight” movie. Where everyone can see, have someone keep score of who gets more “Ooh he’s cute!” type reactions: Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) or Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner).
Pause the movie and serve home-made spaghetti (yum!) or Chef Boyardee Ravioli (easy), tossed green salad, and garlic bread when Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) and Esme Cullen (Elizabeth Reaser) say they are making Italiano for Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart). Pause to blow out the birthday candles and serve the “Twilight” birthday cake when Edward picks Bella up for the Prom.
Kiss Edward Cullen Party Game:
Have a bunch of different colors of lipstick, an Edward Cullen poster, and a blindfold. Cover the poster in clear plastic wrap. The birthday girl chooses her lipstick color first, and then each girl chooses a different color and applies it. The girls take turns being blindfolded, spun around till they are dizzy, and then walking up and kissing the poster. The girl who kisses closest to Edward’s mouth wins. Maybe she gets to keep the poster as a prize, it’s up to the birthday girl.
“Twilight” Costume Contest – Include on the Invitations:
Of course a “Twilight” Halloween birthday party is an excuse to dress up like Bella Swan, Alice Cullen (Ashley Greene) or Rosalie Hale (Nikki Reed). Alice Cullen and Rosalie Hale are vampires, but Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight” vampires don’t have fangs. Their skin glitters, so Alice and Rosalie costumes include makeup with glitter in it.
Bella Swan is like “The Ugly Duckling.” In “Twilight” she wears her dad’s flannel shirts and her long mousy brown hair is messy and stringy much of the time. Bella does get to fix her hair nice and dress up in a blue prom dress, though.
Alice Cullen is cheerful petite pixie with short spiked brown hair who loves jokes, ballet and designer clothes.
Rosalie Hale is a long-haired blonde bombshell–drop dead gorgeous–who wears clothes that show off her perfect figure.
“Twilight” Halloween Birthday Party Decoration Ideas
There are pre-printed “Twilight” paper plates, cups and napkins you can order if you have a week to allow for shipping.
Put some ferns next to a forest poster at a focal point in the room, to make it look like Forks, Washington. If you want to go all out, then rent a fog machine or use dry ice to make the room misty like the forest scene in the movie, where Bella tells Edward she knows he’s a vampire.
Or, borrow all the mirrors you can and hang them all around the room to make it look like Bella’s ballet studio. This is the scariest scene in the movie, which is perfect for Halloween.
