The Obama administration worked hard at containing the damage done by the 250,000+ documents released by WikiLeaks. The White House is calling the release of sensitive information an attack on America and is considering legal action against WikiLeaks.
Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton said WikiLeaks acted illegally in making public the sensitive, private material. She also said the Obama administration was taking “aggressive steps to hold responsible those who stole this information” (read WikiLeaks Update: U.S. Tries to Contain Damage From Leaked Embassy Cables).
I say this to Ms. Rodham Clinton: It’s too bad you didn’t aggressively take steps to end a fraudulent and criminal war (Iraq). It’s too bad the Obama administration hasn’t aggressively taken steps to end abuse and torture of those being held in America’s military prisons overseas. It’s too bad, Ms. Clinton, you and your party didn’t take aggressive steps to end a wash of civilian deaths and criminal malfeasance in Afghanistan.
It’s unfortunate the Obama administration hasn’t adequately brought to justice those corporate powers that assisted in destroying the American and World economies. If you, Ms. Clinton, along with the Obama administration, had been aggressively doing your job and working for the American people, and not American Corporate interests, you wouldn’t have to be aggressively taking steps to hold responsible WikiLeaks and Julian Assange.
Julian Assange is exposing human rights injustice and criminal political behavior. Is the White House exposing any of this for you? Is the Obama administration being honest about its wars, the American economy, and the complexities of terrorism and tensions abroad?
In an interview with Forbes, Assange revealed he will be releasing thousands of inside documents from a major American bank. He said the documents will expose an “ecosystem of corruption” (read WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange Promises to Spill Corporate Secrets Early Next Year)
White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama was “not pleased” about the leaking of classified documents. But I’m telling Robert Gibbs, Americans are “not pleased” with their government. They are “not pleased” with the continued failing White House policies. By the staggering unemployment. By the soaring corporate profits (read Corporate Profits Near Historic in Second Quarter; Betrayal of the American Worker). While 6 million Americans are being fed by Feed America (read Food Banks Preparing for End of Extended Unemployment Benefits). And the world is “not pleased” by America’s constant Middle East aggression and military swagger.
