Christmas cards are more than just wonderful sentiments sent by family, neighbors, co-workers, and friends. They are also fantastic holiday decorating accessories. Many include beautiful eye-catching graphics, and they make great Christmastime displays. However, after receiving dozens of greetings they can become difficult to display on a countertop or another horizontal space. They take up a lot of room. Instead of buying an expensive holder, try these unique ways to display Christmas cards. They will be visible, inside and out, and the greetings will become a decorative part of your unique holiday display.
Display Christmas Cards Across a Wide Interior Doorway
Garland can be used to help decorate an interior doorway while providing a place to display Christmas cards in a unique and decorative way. They can be clipped to the draped garland, but instead of using ugly clothespins, use tiny metal spring-style black and silver clips typically used to fasten papers. If desired, make the clips decorative and unique by embellishing them with light-catching gems or snowflake-shaped confetti. Drape and tape the garland across a wide interior doorway and down both sides. Use the tiny clips to display the Christmas cards on the garland. A very wide doorway will hold dozens of Christmas cards. Attach garland to both sides of the interior doorway to display twice as many.
Display Christmas Cards Vertically on Ribbons
Another unique and easy way to display a large number of Christmas cards is on lengths of ribbon. Buy yards of wide ribbon in holiday colors, and hang them on a wall or along the trim of an interior doorway. Place a large bow at the top of each ribbon to make them look more decorative and complete. Attach small squares of peel and stick Velcro to the ribbon and the back of each card upon arrival. It will not take much Velcro to hold a card. The Christmas cards on display will be easy to read, and the ribbons can be saved and used to display Christmas cards year after year.
Display Christmas Cards on this Unique Potted Tree
A potted branch can be used to make a unique Christmas card tree. Spray-paint a large branch that has many small limbs that can be used for hanging cards. After the paint dries, embellish it further with spray-on glitter. Spray the tops of the limbs with a generous amount of spray-on artificial snow. Plant the limb in a heavy pot filled with florist foam. Top the florist foam with pebbles, and coat the pebbles with spray-on artificial snow. Use a punch to create a hole in each card, and tie them to the tree branches with narrow ribbons. This clever way to display Christmas cards will look absolutely beautiful.
