Another week has come and gone, and a whole new set of family-friendly events are here to entertain. The Mission District works wonders for parents and children by offering a handful of kid-friendly activities within the Mission District. Activities that seek to educate and stimulate the minds of Mission children are constantly available for parents to take advantage of, and this week is no different. Instead of staying home watching SpongeBob (not that that is a bad idea), check out the following events with the kiddies in your life:
Dancing, and Breakfast-time
Children dream of dancing around the breakfast table, while noshing on yummy breakfast treats. Go ahead and make their dreams a reality each Saturday morning at the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center. Saturday mornings are dubbed Breakfast with Enzo, an interactive breakfast and dancing charade performed by Enzo Garcia. Sit back with a nice cup of coffee, while the kids wiggle their booties and munch on wholesome breakfast treats.
Saturdays, 10 a.m. to noon (two sessions)
Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center
Ages 0-12, $5
Let’s Sing the ABCs
The children will learn the ABCs, while celebrating the 40th anniversary of “Sesame Street.” Sing along to the ABC song, learn new numbers with the help of Cookie Monster and Big Bird. While the children are busy dancing and learning new skills, the parents (that’d be you!) can sit in on a parenting class for free.
More Muppet Magic: The Jim Henson Legacy
October 1-30, show times vary
All ages welcome, $2-$8
701 Mission Street at 3rd
Stay tuned for more events in the Mission District area, as the neighborhood is always booming with activities!
