As we draw nearer to Halloween, one can bet on their being quite a selection of scary movies to choose from. Since moviegoers are deprived majority of the year from decent horror films, one can look forward to the fall. This fall seems to have a pretty decent lineup of horror movies. Here is a list of the horror movies coming up this fall.
This movie has a very unique plot when it comes to horror. Here is a story about 5 strangers who become trapped on an elevator. As if this is not bad enough, some crazy things start happening in this small area and they begin to realize that they are indeed in the midst of the devil. While the plot seems very interesting, I just know there will be some sort of twist in the end. If you fear confined spaces and the demonic possession movies get you pumped than this one may knock your socks off. This movie comes to theaters September 17th.
Let Me In
Based on the Swedish novel and movie, “Let the Right One In”, this is a story about a little boy who has been ostracized from his fellow peers and befriends a girl who lives next door who seems to be a loner too. However he begins to think that this little girl is different and may have something to do with all the murders that have occurred in his town. While the trailer seems very compelling, there is already much argument about it not being as good as the original book. But if you love things that go bump in the night along with a bit of mystery, this one is for you. This movie debuts October 1st.
I am most excited about this horror film this season just because I feel like it is the closest we are going to get to how scared we were during paranormal activity. This is a story about a ten-year-old girl who is taken from her parents by a social worker for alleged abuse. Little does this social worker know is that the real culprit of the abuse is not planning on letting her go. This movie is either going to be really good or really bad, but I’m sure it bound to have a few parts that will be so scary it will make your heart flutter. Look for this movie in theaters October 1st.
I Spit on Your Grave
Based on a 1979 cult classic, “Day of the Woman”, this is a gruesome story. A woman from the city decides to retreat to a quaint cabin out in the woods to write her first novel. Her presence in the town gets the attention of a few locals with a plan that starts off at just scaring this city girl, but then turns into something else completely. After being left for dead, our heroine survives this trauma and after recovery seeks revenge on these men who caused her much pain. This is the ultimate vengeance movie, but be warned of you have a weak stomach because it is bound to be gory. This movie will debut October 8th.
Saw 3D: The Traps Come Alive
It just wouldn’t be Halloween without another Saw movie and this one should set the stakes since it is in 3D. This seventh saw film has many characters that were in the previous saw movies and they make their mark in this new film as well with new traps and gruesome puzzles. Again if gore and gruesomeness is what does it for you, then go see this film, especially if you have already seen the other six movies. This film comes to theaters October 22nd.
Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D
Resident evil movies have been the ultimate leader in zombie film meets action and their popularity seems to be ongoing. Here you have our main character, Alice, still looking for survivors and together they flee to Los Angeles where they here a rumor that there is a sanctuary. Little do they know that there is more struggles to overcome. This movie is a great mix of thriller, horror, action, and a bit of humor, but definitely enough to keep one interested. If you love zombie films, don’t let this one slip through your fingers. This movie comes to theaters September 10th.
