Mark your calendars friends and neighbors for the upcoming Mission Beacon community meeting being held on Oct. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will provide an overview of the Beacon Initiative process that is lighting up our neighborhood soon.
The meeting will serve as a platform to discuss the five-month process to gather community and investor input on the future location of the beacon.
If you’ve been out of the loop, the Beacon Initiative will be a community center that will provide classes and activities for the residents of the Mission District. The youth will have a safe place to make friends and participate in art classes and physical activity. Plus, adults will be able to participate in recreational basketball, lend a hand in the community garden, and take an art class, too.
