Boston is a great shopping city. There are all the upscale designer type shops that you could possibly want. If you are looking for something a little more economical, Boston also has a nice selection of high end thrift shops to satisfy even the most discerning shopper.
The Closet¸Inc “Gently Worn and Gently Priced”
For over 30 years The Closet has been offering a great selection of gently used clothes for men and women. This is on Newbury Street and the offerings are indicative of that. They have a blog that features some of the amazing finds as soon as they come in. You need to move fast if you want to snag one of these for yourself. This is the stuff that dreams are made of. The store is well organized and the staff is helpful. You will get couture fashion here with recent finds including a dress by Chloe and shoes from Manolo Blahnik. Prices will be amazing but this is not inexpensive in the same terms as a lesser shop. Be prepared to shell out a lot less than retail for some great fashion.
Boomerangs Special Edition
Boomerangs is a local chain of Boston thrift shops operated by the Aids Action Committee. At the Special Edition in South Boston you will find all the fashion of Newbury Street at thrift shop prices. You can find things like Prada shoes and designer bags at this location. There are other locations if you want to pay less and get good quality not quite designer duds. The money is going to a great cause so this is an opportunity of save money and help at the same time, a winning combination.
Poor Little Rich Girl
The first of the Poor Little Rich Girl Shops was opened in 2002. It has expanded since but if you want designed vintage the location you wanted is their smallest one and is located on Newbury Street. It is only 500 square feet but it is jam packed with all the best that comes into any of the shops. You will find vintage 70’s as well as more recent designer clothes. Everything is in perfect condition and well organized. You will enjoy spending some time looking for the special something. Prices are reasonable considering the location and the quality of what is being offered.
