Elizabeth and Emily Hazelwood opened Urban Vintage Café in April 2010. Since then, it has been thriving with locals. Both ladies shared a love of vintage furniture and incorporated that into the design for their café.
Urban Vintage, located at 294 Grand Ave., replaced a local bodega which had been there for over 20 years. The sisters not only sell vintage-inspired meals, they also sell baby clothing made by a local neighbor, knick-knacks, even candles. The prices are affordable; the Hazelwood sisters wouldn’t have it any other way. Most of the menu selections run between $7 and $9.
This unique café has a full latte bar which offers coffees and teas, as well as many different bakery selections, such as pomegranate white tea cookies from This Chick Bakes, as well as vegan and wheat free muffins that are just delicious.
The café is closed on Saturdays (which might seem a bit strange) but that’s because they use that day to host private events such as bridal showers.
