The vacant lot at Indiana and 25th Street near the 280 northbound ramp is quickly becoming a green space for the neighborhood to enjoy. A planting party last month did quite a bit to transform the half acre lot.
Called Progress Park by planners, the hope is that the lot will soon boast flower beds, herb gardens, and an off-leash dog park. They even hope to use a cistern to capture rain water and roof run-off for irrigation.
When it’s ready, Progress Park will host community events for Dogpatch, Potrero Hill and Potrero Flats that will include night time movies, art displays, farmer’s markets and swap meets.
