Each year, the St.Joseph School holds an annual Sausage Festival, which to many in the area, is a way of celebrating Oktoberfest on a smaller, local scale. There is fun for the whole family at the sausage festival, a one weekend a year event. The event is held each year, the first weekend in September after Labor Day. Hours are; Friday 5PM- Midnight, Saturday 10AM- Midnight and Sunday 1PM-8PM.
There is plenty of sausage for everyone as well as other carnival food like elephant ears, cotton candy and caramel apples. Admission is $2 per person or $1 plus one donation per person of any nonperishable food item. All proceeds go toward helping the St. Joseph Catholic School. There is even a beer garden for anyone over the age of 21.
There is a small carnival with rides and carnival games, booths of hand made arts and crafts as well as other vendors that do things such as air brush tattoos and teach sand art and candle making.
There is something fun for everyone at the Vancouver Sausage Festival, just make sure that you bring your umbrella as it will surely be raining as it almost always does at the Sausage Festival.
