I’ve always been a little uncertain how to feel about Victoria’s Secret’s cosmetics. After all, it really isn’t a cosmetics company, but at least I haven’t really hated any of their products. The Beauty Rush Lipgloss was probably the first makeup I ever got from Victoria’s Secret.
I have the Beauty Rush Lipgloss in “Passion Fruit Pop,” and I almost love it. So the lipgloss comes in one of those squeeze tubes with a silver top. I think it looks very attractive, and the lettering looks lovely. The lipgloss itself looks a little peach pink with some gold shimmer. The color also looks lovely. All in all, the packaging is great. It is easy to use, and doesn’t spill horribly like some other squeeze tube lipglosses.
Opening the lipgloss, you’ll find that it is scented. The scent is fruity, but not like anything I’ve really smelt before. But then again, how many people have actually smelt passion fruit? I doubt it really smells like passion fruit, but I like the smell. It’s pleasant, but if you do not like your lipglosses to have a scent, this might not be for you. It does have a stronger scent than other lipglosses I have, but it’s not overpowering to me. (It also tastes good, in case it bothers you when you actually consume your lipgloss).
The color itself is sheer, so it doesn’t so much matter which lip gloss you get. I guess the amount of shimmer does matter, but I don’t really see a color change on my lips. Any color is very, very slight. So keep that in mind if you want a lipgloss with a lot of color. However, color may vary from lipgloss to lipgloss, and I only have one color. Victoria’s Secret advertises “high-shine with major flavor” and it does give you both. This lipstick is very shiny, it really is a gloss. I really like that it is very glossy without seeming tacky.
The one thing that prevents me from wholeheartedly loving this lipgloss is that it is so sticky. It feels really thick on my lips. I wish the formula were a little thinner, but had the same shine. However, overall, I like this lipgloss a lot, but don’t wear it a lot because of the thickness issue. However, something you could do is to mix the lipgloss with some other lipgloss, or even Vaseline to thin it down.
