The art gallery, Magasin Totale, closed up its Vinegar Hill space at 10 Jay Street and is moving to Manhattan.
The gallery closed its final Friday with a show titled “Studies in Rhythm” featuring the sculptures of artist Evan Leutzinger. The work included steel sculptures and hand carved wood pieces “informed by music, forged by hand.”
The Magasin Totale gallery regularly features a variety of artisan made, hand-crafted works, such as: jewelry, tableware, sculpture, embroidery, fabrics, unique glass, and hand-blown glass sculptures.
They’ve carried works from producers Kiln Design Studio, Heather Palmer Glass, Lost City Products, Phuze Design, Joe Cariati, and Jess Wainer.
It is sad to see a business leave Vinegar Hill. Hopefully they continue to find success across the water.
