So, you’ve finished laying the vinyl tiles down in the kitchen and bathroom and now you have a box left over. Don’t run it back to the store for a refund; use it to give a bedroom a make-over. Although a box of the peel-n-stick tiles isn’t costly it will make your room look as though you spent plenty!
Use the tiles around the room to give it a whole new theme. The tiles are available in a marble design – in various colors – that can give your room an elegant look. There are other designs, too, like wood grain-look and solid colors. The tiles can often be found at dollar-theme stores for less than you would pay at a home improvement retailer. However, there can be some difference in the quality and thickness of the tiles.
If you have a flat headboard and/or foot board the vinyl tiles can instantly change the look. Peel-n-stick them across the width, butting them together, or leaving a small gap between them. Or, turn one of the 12″x12″ tiles to form a diamond shape, and mount it in the center of the head board. If the bed has a foot board do the same to it. The marble-look accents are stunning on many different types of beds.
Cover the entire top of scarred night stands by using the vinyl tiles on top. Or, if you used a single diamond-shape tile for the headboard and foot board, bring the look together by doing the same to the top of the night stands. In fact, with some designs of night stands, you can use a tile on a night stand door.
Use a single, diamond-shape as a hanger for your robe. Stick the tile to a door or wall then mount a peel-n-stick hanger. Make an arrangement of these tiles, like three in a row or four in a diamond shape, to hold other things, too. One hook can hold your robe, one can hold necklaces, and another can hold belts. These work great for creating an attractive arrangement inside a bedroom closet or even a bathroom.
Tiles don’t have to be used as a whole. It’s easy to cut them down to any size using an ordinary pair of scissors. Use whole tiles or partial ones on cornices, mirror corners, picture frame corners, lamps or even a bedroom trash can. The simple tiles make it easy to give your bedroom a complete make-over for very little money!
