Sarah flew down several long hallways until she reached a large room. The girl saw several space ships in this room and large metallic cargo crates. The girl glanced around. She couldn’t see anything out of the ordinary.
Suddenly the space ships lifted off the ground and began firing at the girl. Sarah quickly activated her shield deflecting the blasts. The girl then started throwing blue orbs at the ships. The orbs sliced through the bodies of the ships causing them to explode. When the last ship was destroyed the girl deactivated her shield.
The metallic crates started to shake. With a loud boom they were broken apart and several robots appeared. The robots were long and cylindrical in shape and they drove around the room on three small tires.
The robots started shooting small rockets at the girl.
Sarah dodged a few of the rockets and then threw several blue orbs at the rest of them, but some of the rockets made it past her. They turned in midair and struck the girl in the back.
Sarah was thrown forwards. Slamming into the ground the girl rolled several meters before she regained her balance and started to run across the floor. Several of the robots continued to fire rockets at her.
Sarah ran as fast as she could as the rockets slammed into the ground. The first dozen missed her by mere inches, but not wanting to take any chances the girl kicked off the ground and began soaring through the air once more.
Turning towards the robots the girl began firing her laser at them. The laser cut through the many robots and sliced through the rockets heading towards her. Soon all the robots were gone.
Sarah looked around the room. She spotted another opening and began flying through it. The girl flew down a long hallway. Suddenly several small robots appeared in front of the girl and began firing lasers at Sarah.
Sarah activated her shields, but the lasers passed through it and struck her belly. Kelly’s eyes closed tightly and she began laughing hysterically. The robots were firing tickle beams at her.
Sarah grabbed her stomach and began kicking her legs furiously. The robots flew around the girl and fired their lasers at her sides, underarms, belly and feet. Even though the girl was fully clothes the beams still seemed to be tickling her bare flesh.
“Not this again!” Sarah thought. The girl tried to fly away, but the tickle beams were starting to wear her down again. “Come on Sarah… You can do this!” The girl thought.
Sarah turned in midair and threw a blue orb at the robots. The robots dodged out of the way, but the explosion the blue orb caused destroyed a few robots. Sarah turned once more and tossed a barrage of blue orbs at the remaining robots. These sliced through the robots metallic bodies destroying them utterly.
Sarah smiled and then headed back down the long hallway. Moments later Sarah was flying out of the massive ship.
“Thank God…” Sarah said, breathing a sigh of relief. The girl was afraid the space ship had left the Earth. She was thankful to see it wasn’t true.
“I HOPE YOU KNOW YOU HAVEN’T ESCAPED JUST YET!” Came the voice of Kelly over an intercom system. “THIS ENTIRE SHIP WAS MADE TO TAKE PEOPLE LIKE YOU DOWN! IF I CAN’T HAVE THAT WEAPON NO ONE CAN!” Kelly roared.
Several cannons and missile pods appeared out of the sides of the massive ship. They began firing relentlessly at the Viridian Ranger.
Sarah turned and flew as fast as she could away from the ship. When the girl felt she had put enough distance between herself and the ship she then began circling around it. The lasers couldn’t keep up with her and the missiles were exploding before they could reach her. A few missiles did get close, but the girl was easily able to take them down using her orbs.
When the girl reached the front of the ship she aimed her palms at it and fired a single laser. The laser struck the ship creating a massive hole. Smoke bellowed out of that hole.
“THAT WON’T STOP ME!” Kelly snapped.
More lasers appeared and began firing at Sarah. Sarah quickly activated her shields, but the impact was so powerful that it knocked her back several meters. Not only that, but her shields went offline.
“Crap!” Sarah grumbled in a low voice. The girl aimed her palms at the new laser cannons who were aiming at her. The first blast managed to take them out, the second blast Sarah fired created another large gash in the ship. This attack sparked a fire and more smoke bellowed out.
“THAT’S IT!” Kelly roared. Sarah smiled proudly. She knew she was managing to take the ship down.
Sarah’s smile vanished when she saw a huge cannon appear out of the bottom of the ship. This cannon was aimed at the city of Viridian. “LAST CHANCE! EITHER I HAVE THAT WEAPON OR I TAKE OUT THAT CITY! AND BELIEVE ME THERE WON’T BE ANYONE LEFT!”
“No…” Sarah breathed. The girl knew she didn’t have a choice. She had to give up the weapon. “Ok…” Sarah said, in a low voice. “I…” Before the girl could say another word a purple beam of energy from high overhead struck the ship. The beam was so powerful that it sliced the ship cleanly in two.
“WHAT THE… WHO…” Kelly began, but her voice crackled out before she could utter another word.
Kelly watched in horror as the bridge was separated by the beam of energy. Soon the room cracked open and the two halves of her ship split apart. Carol stood a few feet away from her. She also wore a worried look on her face.
It was thanks to the antigravity system placed in both sections of the ship that prevented Kelly’s ship from plummeting to the ground, but those wouldn’t last long and the girl was certain the self-destruct system had been activated.
“ABANDON SHIP!” Kelly ordered. The other space pirates on the other half of the ship did as they were told. Thankfully for them they didn’t have to go anywhere to reach an escape ship.
Sarah turned to Carol and was about to reach for her hand when something behind the girl exploded. Sarah watched as Carol was launched through the air and over the side of the ship.
Sarah sighed deeply. “Oh well…” She said in a low voice.
Sarah saw several smaller ships detach themselves from both sections of the large space pirates ship. They pointed their noses towards the heavens. The girl flew at them as fast as she could, but spotted a figure falling from the ship. “Man…” Sarah breathed.
The girl flew after the falling figure as fast as she could. The girl reached the figure and saw it was Carol. She was alive, but unconscious. Sarah wrapped her left arm around Carol’s waist and then placed her right hand firmly on the girl’s head. Sarah then began slowly until they were no longer falling.
The girl was now cradling Carol in her arms. “You’re ok now.” Sarah said, glancing down at Carol. The girl couldn’t help, but smile. She didn’t know Carol’s story, but something told her she had just rescued her from something terrible. Something more terrible then falling from the pirates ship.
Sarah glanced up. With a bright flash of light the two sections of the pirates ship was gone and the smaller ships that detached from it were gone as well. Sarah had a feeling the ships had escaped.
“Hmm…” Carol groaned and then opened her eyes.
“Hi.” Sarah said, looking down at the girl she was still holding. “Are you ok?” She asked.
“Where am I?” Carol asked, glancing around.
“You’re safe. I promise.” Sarah said, smiling warmly at Carol.
“Did… You destroy Kelly’s ship?” Carol asked.
Sarah closed her eyes and breathed deeply. “No.” The girl said. “I don’t know what did, but it wasn’t me.” Sarah said, opening her eyes and winking at Carol. The girl then glanced up at the heavens once more. For a moment the girl could have sworn she saw someone flying around in a suit that looked just like hers. She wanted to think it was impossible, but knew better then to think that.
“What am I going to do now?” Carol asked.
“Don’t worry.” Sarah said, hugging Carol close to her chest. “I promise I’ll take care of you until we figure that out.”
Sarah turned towards her home. She knew her sister and new friend would be worried about her. The girl did wonder who or what had destroyed the ship and someday she would find out, but now all she was worried about was going home.
Captain Kelly’s ship was flying several hundred miles over the Earth’s atmosphere. Her eyes were trained on the country she and her fellow space pirates had just fled from. “Damn…” The girl cursed, closing her eyes and leaning back in her seat. For a few moments the girl didn’t say or do anything. She was thankful to have escaped her doomed ship, but now she was left with nothing, but a few escape vessels and a handful of space pirates.
“Ma’am?” Came a voice over Kelly’s intercom.
“What is it?” Kelly asked, not opening her eyes.
“I scanned the area, for a split second there was a ship here. I think it belonged to a bounty hunter.”
“Oh?” Kelly said, opening her eyes. “What would a bounty hunter be doing all the way out here?” The girl wondered, aloud.
“I’m not sure ma’am.” The pirate said. “But I’m guessing the bounty hunter is the one who destroyed the ship.”
Kelly nodded. “I wouldn’t doubt that. They do have some powerful people working for them.”
“What should we do now?” The girl asked.
Kelly thought about it for a moment. “I want that weapon now more then ever. I don’t care how long it takes, I’m going to get it!” Kelly said, through clenched teeth. “What I want you to do is contact the rest of the pirates. Tell them to send another ship.” The girl ordered.
“Yes ma’am.” Said the pirate.
Kelly glanced out of the window of her ship once more at the country they just fled from. Soon they would be going back.
When the girls finally reached the farm Sarah saw Tara and Brittany waiting for her on the porch. They were waving their hands wildly over their heads.
“SARAH!” Tara cried, throwing her arms around her sisters neck. The girl didn’t even seem to notice the girl was holding Carol. “I was so worried! Are you ok?” The girl asked.
“I’m fine Tara.” Sarah said, to Tara. “Hi Brittany.” Sarah said, turning to her friend.
“Hi Sarah! I’m glad you’re ok.” Brittany said. The girls eyes then fell on Carol who was looking at both Tara and Brittany through the corners of her eyes. “Who’s that?” She asked.
“This is Carol… I don’t know her story, but she’s a good girl.” Sarah said.
“Is she ok?” Tara asked.
“I think she just needs some rest.” Sarah said, heading for the front door. “She’s going to take my bed tonight.” Tara nodded and opened the door so Sarah could go inside. Moments later Sarah returned. “She’s already asleep.” The girl said.
Brittany was leaning against the house and Tara was sitting on the edge of the porch. Her eyes were on her feet. “I wonder who Carol is.” Tara said.
“I do too.” Sarah said, stepping away from the house.
“So what happened up there?” Brittany asked. “That huge ship suddenly vanished…”
“I don’t know.” Sarah admitted. “To be honest with you I’m not the one who took that ship down.”
“Who did?” Tara asked.
Sarah shook her head again. “I’m not sure, but I’m going to find out.” Sarah said, turning to her sister and friend. “I don’t know what’s going on here, but Carol’s in trouble and something powerful took that massive ship down. Not only that, but the captain of that ship. Kelly escaped. This isn’t finished yet.”
“You’re right.” Tara said.
“So what now?” Brittany asked.
Sarah shook her head. “I guess we have to wait.” Sarah said, looking towards the sky. “Right now waiting is all any of us can do.”
