Driving in cold fall or winter days is no fun at all when your back and bottom are freezing cold. Luckily, now you can find many heat cushions that can keep you warm during those cold months. For people with back problems or fibromyalgia, a heated cushion is more than a convenience, it’s a must-have.
One excellent choice is the Wagan IN9738 12V heated seat cushion, sold for about $17. It’s very affordable and works really well keeping your bottom and back warm. It uses the 12-volt power from the cigarette lighter in your car and can keep the temperature stable between 110 and 120 degrees. It’s big enough to fit a family car seat or a truck. The elastic straps and hooks make it easy to put this cushion in place. Unfortunately the straps are not enough to keep cushion in place. This cushion is very light so when you move in and out of the car it follows your movement too easily. The straps also not durable enough and break easily so you may want to use some elastic cord to back that up.
The Wagan heated seat cushion heats up fast and has a high and low temperature control so you can choose which one is more comfortable to use. For most people the low temperature is good enough to provide warmth but when it doesn’t the high setting is there to heat the cushion even more. Note that you shouldn’t keep the heated cushion turned on when the engine is not running. It will drain your battery really fast.
This heated seat cushion is not only usable in the car. There’s an optional AC adapter that you can buy so you can use it at the office or home. You just need to churn about $14 for the adapter.
All in all the Wagan heated seat cushion is an excellent buddy that can make driving in cold winter days much more bearable. It may only usable for a couple of months but considering the price you can just buy two and keep one in the trunk when the first one break.
