On August 19, 2010, Christian singer/songwriter and Hot Springs native Christine Demeo released her upbeat, catchy debut album Waiting. The 10-track album features several catchy Pop-Rock tunes filled with the beautiful melodies of Demeo’s acoustic guitar while she brings forth her angelic voice to capture the true essence in the music. Demeo used personal experiences to demonstrate the importance of spiritual bonding as it relates to overcoming life’s many challenges and obstacles. Stand-out tracks on the album include “Melody“, “Need Of“, and “Manifest“.
The rhythmic guitar and upbeat melodic sounds help demonstrate the sentimental value behind Demeo’s personal favorite track “Melody“. The Pop-Rock driven track describes happiness and thoughts of love with the lyrics, “…I wanna dance/I wanna sing/All from the crazy love you bring/Now all of my thoughts are spent on you…/” Inspiring others with stories of faith and love, Demeo delivers her personal experiences into a musical format, allowing listeners to indulge in the creativity behind the music.
Approximately two years ago in Texas, Christine Demeo and her band (Barry Runion and Eric Frazier) started the recording process for her debut release Waiting. Recorded in Dallas at Pendlewood Studios, Demeo and her band laid down all 10 tracks for the album, using personal thoughts and experiences for the background of the music. “These songs were written from personal experiences and how God brought me through them,” Demeo states. Her personal thoughts and experiences are evident in the tracks “Need Of” and “Manifest“. In the upbeat track “Need Of”, Demeo describes positive reflections on spiritual growth and personal triumph through her own struggles. With a Blues/Pop groove, Demeo narrates her story while singing, “…and all the pain it was so real/it was killin’ me within/I was blind and could not see/the peace that He gives/now you’re living inside me…/” The soft Pop/Rock ballad “Manifest” features Demeo singing a personal ode to God as she sings, “…I’m crying out to you/all I know now has come to an end and I don’t know what to do/Oh lord dweller if my heart, mold me into everything u are/”
Performing since the tender age of 15, Christine Demeo developed a strong appeal to the guitar while performing for her local church. “My youth pastor wanted to start a worship band,” Demeo states, “so I decided to start learning guitar. I really wanted to play music because I enjoyed it so much.” Demeo’s hard work and remarkable talent would drive her to musical success when she opened for Christian Rock band Relient K in June of 2009 at Magic Springs in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Since the release of her debut recording Waiting, Demeo has been hard at work promoting her album through various venues around the South, including The Poet’s Loft in Hot Springs, Arkansas and the Krider Performing Arts Center in Paris, Tennessee.
