To me, personally, WalMart and deli meat just sounds wrong in the same sentence, yet many of the WalMart’s all over this country have supermarkets inside of them that sell deli meat.
As of this morning, Wal-Mart and Zemco Industries are recalling 380,000 pounds of deli meat. That’s a lot of deli meat, so check your refrigerator if you have shopped at a Wal-Mart supermarket.
The deli meat apparently has bacteria that can be fatal, cause miscarriages or still-births. People with compromised or weak immune systems are at risk – babies, elderly, persons with HIV and the like.
If you have bought this deli meat, please return it to Wal-Mart of throw it out immediately. The meats were distributed between June 18th and July 2, 2010.
