The Washington Redskins 2010 schedule opens against rival Dallas on Sunday. The Washington Redskins 2010 schedule begins on Sunday, September 12 in Washington, and it will be a new-look Redskins team that takes the field. Washington Redskins fans are ready to move on from the frustrating team that has been on the field these past few years, finished 4-12 in 2009 after showing hope and ending 8-8 in 2008. Losing will no longer be acceptable in Washington, especially with the money that they spent to bring in head coach Mike Shanahan to right this ship. Now he has taken charge, and management gave him some new toys to play with.
The big acquisition for the Washington Redskins this offseason was starting quarterback Donovan McNabb, who the Philadelphia Eagles felt was done being a leader. Now Washington has a veteran at the center of their offense, and he will get every chance to try and take the Redskins back to the NFC Playoffs. Things will be a bit easier than last season, especially because they made Philadelphia much weaker by taking on McNabb, and they will get to play the Eagles twice in the 2010 regular season. Look for McNabb to come out huge in those games, simply because he wants to prove to the Eagles that he is still a star quarterback in the NFL. He isn’t the only player looking to come up big for the Redskins this season, and Shanahan certainly isn’t going to accept anything less than the best his players have to offer.
The Washington Redskins 2010 schedule is surprisingly difficult for how badly they finished last year. They get to play St. Louis Rams, Detroit Lions, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but to equate those horrible teams on their schedule, Washington has quite a few tough games as well. Week 2 brings the Houston Texans to town, week 5 is against the Green Bay Packers, week 6 is against the Indianapolis Colts, and week 12 is against Minnesota Vikings. That doesn’t even take into account the two games that they have to play against both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants this season. If the 2010 Washington Redskins are going to make it into the NFC Playoffs, they are definitely going to have to earn it. The season gets started with a primetime game on NBC against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, September 12, and it could be very important to start the year with a win.
