Winter is just around the corner. Many people begin to get dry skin during these harsh cold months of the year. Here are some great tips on how to avoid getting dry skin this winter.
#1 Always Moisturize
After every bath or shower, moisturize your skin. It is the best time to moisturize your skin after you are exposed to water because it will help retain the moisture on your skin. The key is to moisturize your skin at least two times a day.
#2 Use lukewarm water instead of hot water
When you shower or bathe avoid using hot water, instead use lukewarm water. Hot water strips the natural oils that our skin contains that helps keep our skin naturally moisturized. Lukewarm water will be much easier on your skin, and won’t strip your skins natural oils. If you must take a hot bath or shower, be sure to lather on lotion after.
#3 Eat fish
Fish contains omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids help keep your skin healthy. Omega 3 fatty acids will help keep your skin from becoming dry, by retaining moisture in your skin.
#4 Avoid certain types of soaps
Avoid using soaps that contain alcohol, and chemicals. Begin using soap that has natural ingredients. Soaps and cleansers with natural ingredients will be more gentle on your skin. Soaps containing ingredients of olive oil, and organic herbs are the best.
