The week 10 NFL scores included quite a few surprises, many of which could be considered upsets. The week 10 NFL scores began back on Thursday of course, when the Atlanta Falcons beat the Baltimore Ravens with a very nice fourth quarter comeback. It pushed Atlanta out in front with the best record in the NFL at 7-2, and several other teams were going to try and match that output on Sunday. Two of them succeeded quite well, but one of them did it with a bit of help from the defense of their opponent.
With mere moments left in overtime, the New York Jets and Cleveland Browns were tied at 20. Mark Sanchez completed a pass over the middle to Santonio Holmes, but the Cleveland secondary ran into each other, and he was off to the races. He ended up scoring the game-winning touchdown, sending Browns fans home with more disappointment than if they had simply been blown-out. Cleveland was so close to winning their fourth game of the year, but instead it is the Jets that move into a tie for the best record in football.
The other highly touted game on Sunday was New England vs. Pittsburgh, with two of the 6-2 teams in the AFC going against each other. Only one of them could win the game, and it ended up being the Patriots, as Tom Brady helped pour on the offense to the tune of 39 points. Pittsburgh scored 23 points of their own in the fourth quarter, but it was too late to make that much of a difference, and the Patriots were able to do it all on the road. It was a very impressive win for these Patriots, and now they are tied with the Jets and Falcons for the best record in the entire NFL.
In the realm of embarrassing ways to lose, the Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Houston Texans on a last second Hail Mary catch that should have been an incomplete pass. The ball was thrown up, and tipped down by the Houston Texans secondary. The only problem was that there was another Jaguars player waiting to grab the tip, and he scored the winning touchdown. It was such a heart-breaking way for Houston to lose, and now they fall to 4-5 on the season with that loss. It was probably about as embarrassing as the New York Giants getting plastered by the New York Giants in a game that seemed like it should have been easy for New York.
