Paradise Picks is a collection of 5 low value players who are decent spot starts for owners dealing with bye week gaps or injuries. These players are high risk/high reward plays that may be the difference between a win and a loss.
Cleveland Defense vs. Carolina
The Browns defense has been a nice surprise for fantasy owners in 2010 and should continue their strong play this week against a poor Panther offense. We predicted that the Ravens defense would create big plays against the Panthers last week, and we think that trend will continue for the Browns. Look for TJ Ward and the Browns D to have multiple turnovers and a possible score.
Deion Butler vs. Kansas City
Big Mike Williams may miss this game with an ankle injury, opening the door for Butler to get more looks from Hasselbeck in the passing game. The Chiefs do have a decent secondary, but I think Butler will be able to have a decent game and possibly get into the end zone.
Nate Washington vs. Houston
The Titans quarterback situation is in flux right now with Vince Young’s temper tantrum and subsequent IR placement for an injured thumb. We are not high on Rusty Smith; however the Houston pass defense is so terrible that almost anyone could have a decent game against them. Look for Nate Washington to be the benefactor of the poor Texan defense on his way to 80 yards and a score.
Maurice Morris vs. New England
Although Jahvid Best claims he plans on playing Thursday against the Pats, we think his turf toe will continue to be an issue and will force Jim Schwartz to start Maurice Morris. Morris is an accomplished pass catching back and will be a nice outlet for Shaun Hill in the passing game.
Derek Hagan vs. Jacksonville
As we reported earlier this week, Hakeem Nicks will miss three weeks with a leg injury. His absence will open the door for Derek Hagan to start alongside Mario Manningham against a poor Jacksonville secondary. Look for Hagan to hit pay dirt again this week.
