Week 12 – QB Rankings
1. Aaron Rodgers – GB = @Atl
Coming off of a ridiculously great performances against the Vikings in Minnesota with a 301 passing yard and 4 touchdown game, there is no reason to believe that Rodgers will not put up great stats this week as well. A matchup against a Falcons defense that has allowed an average of 244 passing yards per game this season, could easily have Rodgers pushing stats in the range of 250-300 passing yards and 2-3 touchdowns.
2. Drew Brees – NO = @Dal
While the Cowboys defense has played better over the past two weeks, their secondary is still not very good. Add in a matchup against Drew Brees and the Saints passing attack, and the Dallas secondary looks to be in for a long Thanksgiving afternoon. Brees should be pushing the 300 passing yard mark, with 2-3 touchdowns definitely within reach.
3. Philip Rivers – SD = @Ind
The Colts pass defense has not been terrible in recent weeks, but they are not exactly the shutdown type either. As the NFLs leading passer through week 9, there is no reason to believe that Rivers cannot tally numbers in the range of 250-325 passing yards and 2 touchdowns in this game.
4. Peyton Manning – Ind = SD
A fairly tough matchup against a Chargers pass defense that is one of the best in the NFL, but with essentially no running game for the Colts offense, Manning who leads the entire NFL in passing attempts at an incredible 438 through 10 games, should easily be pushing another 40 plus passing attempts in this game. And anytime a QB puts the ball in the air that much, the potential for stats in the range of 250-300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns is definitely possible.
5. Ben Roethlisberger – Pit = @Buf
Facing a Buffalo defense that has allowed 20 touchdown passes to just 4 interceptions all season, Roethlisberger could have a field day throwing the ball in this matchup. Granted the Steelers running game with Rashard Mendenhall will likely take away a bunch of yards and a touchdown or two from Roethlisberger, but the one thing we can be certain about, is the fact that the Steelers offense will definitely put up some points this week. Roethlisberger easily has the potential to tally 250-300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
6. Michael Vick – Phi = @Chi
After a tough matchup against the Giants defense last week, Vick will face another stiff challenge this week against a Chicago Bears defense that has allowed a league best, just 6 passing touchdowns all season, while racking up a very solid 15 interceptions. Add in the fact that the Bears defense has also allowed a league second best just 78 rushing yards per game, and a league best only 14 points per game so far this season, and there is no question that this could be a down game for Vick this week. However even with that said, this is Michael Vick we are talking about, and you just never know.
7. Tom Brady – NE = @Det
A Thanksgiving bash in Detroit could actually turn into a points shootout with the Lions offense. Brady has a bunch of upside this week, as he could be looking at stats in the range of 250-300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
8. Eli Manning – NYG = Jac
Considering the fact that the Jaguars pass defense is essentially awful, allowing an average of 264 passing yards per game and a total of 20 touchdown passes already this season through 10 games. While Manning averages 259 passing yards per game with a combined 21 total passing touchdowns through 10 games, it seems more than reasonable to expect those averages to play out in this matchup. 250-300 passing yards and 2 touchdowns is still within reach for Manning this week even with Hakeem Nicks out.
9. Joe Flacco – Bal = TB
10. Matt Schaub – Hou = Ten
11. Kyle Orton – Den = StL
12. Shaun Hill – Det = NE / SLEEPER – SPOT STARTER
Simply not getting any respect from fantasy football teams, Hill at just 23% owned in 10 team leagues, is absolutely worthy of being a starting QB in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams this week. There is little reason to believe that the struggling Patriots pass defense will be able to stop Calvin Johnson and the emerging Nate Burleson and Brandon Pettigrew in this matchup. Hill could easily be verging on 250 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns in this game.
13. Matt Ryan – Atl = GB
14. Matt Cassel – KC = @Sea / SLEEPER – SPOT STARTER
Owned in just half of the fantasy football leagues out there, Cassel has an outstanding matchup this week against a weak Seahawks pass defense. Add in the likelihood that the Seahawks best defensive back in Marcus Trufant is injured and likely out for this game, and the Cassel to Dwayne Bowe connection could be huge this week. 225-275 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns is easily within reach for Cassel in this game.
15. Donovan McNabb – Was = Min
16. Jay Cutler – Chi = Phi
17. Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buf = Pit
18. Jon Kitna – Dal = NO
19. Mark Sanchez – NYJ = Cin
20. Brett Favre – Min = @Was
21. Matt Hasselbeck – Sea = KC
22. Carson Palmer – Cin = @NYJ
23. Josh Freeman – TB = @Bal
24. Sam Bradford – StL = @Den
25. Bruce Gradkowski – Oak = Mia / DEEP SLEEPER – SPOT STARTER
26. Chad Henne – Mia = @Oak
27. David Garrard – Jac = @NYG
28. Troy Smith – SF = @Ari
29. Derek Anderson – Ari = SF / DEEP SLEEPER – SPOT STARTER
30. Rusty Smith – Ten = @Hou / DEEP SLEEPER – SPOT STARTER
31. Jake Delhomme – Cle = Car
32. Jimmy Clausen – Car = @Cle
33. Tim Tebow – Den = StL
34. Brian St. Pierre – Car = @Cle
35. Tyler Thigpen – Mia = @Oak
36. Jason Campbell – Oak = Mia
37. Alex Smith – SF = @Ari
38. Tarvaris Jackson – Min = @Was
39. Charlie Whitehurst – Sea = KC
40. Chris Simms – Ten = @Hou
28. Colt McCoy – Cle = Car / injured – out – will not play
Tony Romo – Dal = injured – will not play
Matthew Stafford – Det = injured will not play
Kerry Collins – Ten = @Hou – injured will not play
Vince Young – Ten = IR
Matt Moore – Car = IR
Chad Pennington – Mia = IR
