Week 13 – Wavier Wire Pickups. If you are looking for a free agent or waiver wire pickup for your fantasy football team in Week 13, here are a couple of the best options likely available in your league. Week 13 Waiver Wire Pickups at each starting position are posted, including QB – RB – WR – TE – K – D. Each players ownership percentage in a standard 10 team yahoo public league is posted after their name.
Matt Cassel – KC = Den / 54%
At around just 50% owned in 10 team leagues, fantasy football teams need to finally give some respect to Matt Cassel this week. As the #10 highest scoring QB in fantasy football leagues so far this season, Cassel is easily a fringe QB starter in fantasy leagues as shallow as 10 teams right now. With fellow big named QBs including Matt Schaub, Carson Palmer, Donovan McNabb and Brett Favre all owned in a higher percentage of leagues than Cassel entering this week, I have no idea what those team managers are thinking by keeping any of those QBs on their team while Cassel is likely sitting in the free agent pool. And if you are one of those teams, please do yourself a favor and pick up Matt Cassel RIGHT NOW!!
Mark Sanchez – NYJ = @NE / 70%
Ryan Fitzpatrick – Buf = @Min / 53%
Sam Bradford – StL = @Ari / 43%
Mike Goodson – Car = @Sea / 43%
Another 100 total yard performance in the books for Goodson after last weeks game, and a matchup against a terrible Seahawks defense that just got shredded by the Chiefs rushing attack last week, and it looks like another 100 yards could easily be in store for Goodson this week. At under 50% owned, Goodson is definitely worthy of being a starting RB2 option this week.

Fred Jackson – Buf = @Min / 73%
Toby Gerhart – Min = Buf / 12%
Maurice Morris – Det = Chi / 10%

Ben Obomanu – Sea = Car / 4%
Jordy Nelson – GB = SF / 3%

Cleveland Browns = @Mia / 49%
WEEK 12 – WAIVER WIRE PICKUPS
Matt Cassel – KC = @Sea / 51%
Owned in just half of the fantasy football leagues out there, Cassel has an outstanding matchup this week against a weak Seahawks pass defense. Add in the likelihood that the Seahawks best defensive back in Marcus Trufant is injured and likely out for this game, and the Cassel to Dwayne Bowe connection could be huge this week. 225-275 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns is easily within reach for Cassel in this game.
Shaun Hill – Det = NE / 23%
Simply not getting any respect from fantasy football teams, Hill at just 23% owned in 10 team leagues, is absolutely worthy of being a starting QB in fantasy leagues of 14 or more teams this week. There is little reason to believe that the struggling Patriots pass defense will be able to stop Calvin Johnson and the emerging Nate Burleson and Brandon Pettigrew in this matchup. Hill could easily be verging on 250 passing yards and 1-2 touchdowns in this game.
Jon Kitna – Dal = NO / 28%
Mark Sanchez – NYJ = Cin / 67%
Jason Campbell – Oak = Mia / 11%
Colt McCoy – Cle = Car / 8%
Derek Anderson – Ari = SF / 7%
Mike Goodson – Car = @Cle / 31%
Posting back to back 100 rushing yard performances as the starter for the Panthers, Goodson will have an opportunity to continue that trend this week against the Browns. With the Panthers not playing for anything but the future at this point in the season, there is little reason for them to rush Jonathan Stewart back onto the field after dealing with a concussion. Expect the Panthers to continue to feed the ball to Goodson, so they can find out just how he fits into their future plans.
Keiland Williams – Was = Min / 36%
Chris Ivory – NO = @Dal / 14%
Donald Brown – Ind = SD / 33%
Justin Forsett – Sea = KC / 46%
After two fumbles in last weeks game and getting benched for the 4th quarter, it appears that the welcome has already run out on Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. Enter Justin Forsett as a possible fantasy football lifesaver over the remainder of the season.
Maurice Morris – Det = NE / 2%
Willis McGahee – Bal = TB / 35%
Isaac Redman – Pit = @Buf / 0%
In deep leagues, Redman is a flyer flex play as he could easily receive a nice amount of garbage time carries if the Steelers get up big in this game.
Vincent Jackson – SD = @Ind / 58%
Officially the moment fantasy football teams starved for anything at WR have been waiting for. At just over 50% owned, this is the week you finally want to use your waiver claim to grab Jackson if he is still available in your league.
Mario Manningham – NYG = Jac / 73%
At 73% owned, the likelihood that Manningham is still available in your league is pretty slim. However with Hakeem Nicks out and Manningham now the #1 WR for the Giants, a couple of fantasy football teams will reap the rewards of this still nearly 30% available WR.
Nate Burleson – Det = NE / 19%
Finally healthy and teaming up alongside Calvin Johnson, Burleson has essentially had his way against opposing secondary’s over the past few weeks. A matchup against the struggling Patriots defense this week should be no different. 100 receiving yards and 1 touchdown is possible.
Jabar Gaffney – Den = StL / 55%
Lance Moore – NO = @Dal / 61%
Robert Meachem – NO = @Dal / 43%
James Jones – GB = @Atl / 20%
Brandon Pettigrew – Det = NE / 59%
In terms of reliable receptions and receiving yards, Pettigrew has teamed with Shaun Hill to form a solid and productive tandem. With TEs bouncing all over the fantasy football radar right now, Pettigrew has emerged into one of the safest starting TE options for fantasy football teams entering this week.
Todd Heap – Bal = TB / 73%
Playing in his 10th season in the NFL, Heap has been able to stay fairly healthy which has definitely contributed to resurgence as a reliable receiver. Averaging 46 receiving yards per game, including never tallying less than 22 receiving yards in any game this season, Heap has turned himself into Mr. Reliable for fantasy football teams this season.
Rob Gronkowski – NE = @Det / 37%
Mr. Touchdown TE could easily be looking at another TD reception in this game against the Lions. If a fantasy football team needs to take a good gamble at TE for boom stat potential this week, Gronkowski is the guy.
Greg Olsen – Chi = Phi / 50%
Jermaine Gresham – Cin = @NYJ / 27%
Kevin Boss – NYG = Jac / 15%
Joel Dreessen – Hou = Ten / 3%
Jimmy Graham – NO = @Dal / 1%
Lawrence Tynes – NYG = Jac / 60%
Nate Kaeding – SD = @Ind / 33%
Ryan Succop – KC = @Sea / 31%
Matt Prater – Den = StL / 30%
Neil Rackers – Hou = Ten / 49%
Shayne Graham – NE = @Det / 13%
Oakland Raiders = Mia / 30%
Kansas City Chiefs = @Sea / 48%
Miami Dolphins = @Oak / 44%
San Francisco 49ers = @Ari / 49%
Arizona Cardinals = SF / 45%
Cleveland Browns = Car / 11%
