This is going to be a short note on my quest for a body makeover. I have done a lot of talking with Laura Cone and with her wonderful words of wisdom, I have decided to try to rid myself of the horrible craving for sugar that has plagued me for all of my life. She gave me some wonderful pointers and I also visited my local natural food grocery store/vitamin shop. With a nice woman’s help there, I picked out an herbal cleanse that is supposed to help me rid myself of the overgrowth of yeast that is contributing to the problem. Since I am only into day 2 of this, I have no words of wisdom for you yet.
Weight loss wise, I have increased my exercise to 40 minutes on the Nordic Trac and it hasn’t killed me, yet. I was pretty sore yesterday but we had a cool front move through so it probably was that more than anything else. I am on a pretty strict diet right now as far as the yeast killing goes. No bread of any kind, no dairy or sugar at all for the next three weeks. I think I will live. I had 2 eggs and 2 pieces of turkey bacon for breakfast this morning and feel fine.
I know I have been following a vegetarian diet for almost a year now, but I figured if chicken and fish don’t upset my gi tract, then I will allow those back into my diet. Red meat, however, remains taboo, because I know I will suffer. Besides, I don’t miss it.
So, I am killing yeast and working out and keeping portions small this week. If I happen to lose a few pounds while doing this, good. If I can rid myself of my sugar addiction, it will be worth it. I did find that buying organic is way more expensive than “regular” food, too, but our local chain grocery store has a large selection of organic foods to choose from so I won’t have to always buy from the “Natural Grocery Store”.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and I hope next week to report a few more pounds gone and a lot of yeast killed.
