Looking for great barbeque for cheap in Fort Walton Beach, Florida?
Kinfolks is the best.
You may have a difficult time finding it, if you’ve never been, however. The first few times I went, I passed this amazing place, and only realized it because of the incredible aroma that you get when you drive by.
I’m a sucker for barbeque, and when I see a new barbeque place, I HAVE to try it out. As a result, I’ve been to virtually every barbeque restaurant in Okaloosa county, several in Alabama, a couple in Gainesville, Florida, one in South Carolina and one in Orlando, Florida.
Kinfolk’s pork ribs are the most tender I’ve ever had, and the most flavorful, too.
Their mustard-based barbeque sauce is incredible, and perfectly compliments all the meat that they serve. Their sweet sauce is great too.
Here’s what I usually order when I go:
Sliced pork and rib combo, with brunswick stew, fries and wheat bread.
I ALWAYS dig in to the ribs first. These ribs (usually two large ones or three smaller ones) are amazing. They fall right off the bone, and are very messy, like good ribs should be. Just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
Nobody does pork quite as well as they do, and their brunswick stew is awesome too. It has a thinner consistency compared to other brunswick stews, but it packs more flavor than most.
But why would I go to a barbeque place and get fries? Actually, their fries happen to be my favorite out of all the fries available in the Fort Walton Beach – Destin – Niceville area. How they do that, I don’t know. Those fries are really good when you dip them in the stew, too.
I usually make a sandwich out of the sliced pork and the bread, and put some of their sweet sauce on it.
With my drink, this meal (which more than fills me up, and I eat a fairly good amount), comes out to a little less than $9.
Typical meals are $7.50 or less, unless you get something with chicken in it. Apparently, chickens cost more than pigs… Anyway, the helpings are very generous, and unless you eat a LOT, you’re definitely not going to starve.
Anyone in the area needs to eat here at least once in their lives.
