Football season is already upon us and every fan’s ultimate dream is to get to go and cheer on their team from the stands. If you’re lucky enough to get tickets, you’re going to want to make the best of your time at the game. Here are the top five things that everyone should bring to an NFL football game.
A Parking Map and Pen
Everybody knows that the parking lots around the stadiums can be enormous, and so you’re going to want to be prepared to navigate through them like a pro. A parking map will help you find out where the shuttle stops are (if they have them), and the quickest way to get to the entrance of the stadium. Now, the pen is for writing down the section that you parked in. Write it down directly on the map, so it will be easier to find your car when you leave. You don’t want to be that person walking around the stadium at midnight looking for your car.
When you’re going to root on your team, what better way to do it then in your team colors? Go all out and get dressed up. Bring signs and blow horns, but be sure not to annoy the person next to you. Foam hands, body paint, jerseys, and hats are all good ways to show your team spirit.
Whenever you’re at a sporting event and they know that there is no place for you to go during the game, they place ATM machines with exorbitant fees there. In order to get around paying $7.00 just to get money out, bring some cash with you. You never know what concession stands are only going to take cash. You don’t want to be stuck without your favorite beer because you didn’t any.
Extreme Weather Gear
If you are planning on going to a stadium where you know it can get below freezing, or to a stadium where it is going to be H-O-T, hot, then make sure you’re prepared for that. Check the weather reports before you go and dress accordingly. It’s always good to bring a poncho just in case and extra layers if you know it’s going to be cold. At stadiums where it’s hot, bring sunscreen and maybe even a portable fan to keep you cool.
Going to a football game is a great experience, and you’re going to want to be able to look back at those memories years from now. So bring a camera, which are allowed, as long as they don’t take video. But, instead of bringing your expensive camera which could get lost or broken, buy a disposable one. That way, if something does happen to it, you won’t be so mad and you can still enjoy the game.
Well, next time you’re heading out to a football game, hopefully you will remember this advice. But if you forget everything on this list, (however I don’t recommend that you do) don’t forget to have fun!
