By now, we all know about Red Dead Redemption.
It’s just another blockbuster hit for Rockstar. Red Dead Redemption is an open world action-adventure Western video game, developed by Rockstar San Diego and published by Rockstar Games.
The title, which is a spiritual successor to the 2004 game Red Dead Revolver, was released for the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and the Xbox 360 console back in May of this year.
It’s A Hit!
By all accounts, Rockstar has done it again with this one.
Red Dead Redemption has proven to be hugely popular on console, and now PC gamers are clamoring for a PC release of the game.
According to the NPD Sales Group, Red Dead Redemption has sold over two million units in the combined months of May and June alone.
As expected, Red Dead Redemption was priced at the regular $59.99 regular price. Obviously, that didn’t stop plenty of gamers from buying the game anyway.
Still, many gamers are still waiting for that price drop. Unfortunately, it probably isn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Keep in mind that various retailers, like Best Buy or Amazon.com, will occasionally offer a sale price of the game. The lowest I’ve seen is $40, which is a pretty good deal.
For now, it’s unclear as to when there will be a permanent price drop. If you can wait, you may see one for the holiday season.
Another thing to keep in mind of is that Rockstar is planning on released more and more downloadable content (DLC) for the game, which usually costs extra.
What do you think? Do you believe the price of Red Dead Redemption will drop soon? If so, by how much?
Gamers, have you already bought the game? What do you think of it? Be sure to let us know in the comments.
