In addition to happy hour, there are a number of bars throughout the Castro that feature sports. Lately a lot of Castro sports bar customers I know have been wondering if there will be an upscale Super Bowl Party in the Castro. January is just a couple of months away, after all.
In the past, there were a number of sports bars in San Francisco that hosted upscale catering for Super Bowl parties. Rumor has it that there will be at least 2 sports bars in the Castro that may host these kinds of events every year. However, they need more suggestions from regulars in the neighborhood. They also need to have a general idea of how many people think they will attend.
Hint, hint: If you want some of the kind of upscale Super Bowl parties in the Castro, you need to say something to the owners now!
If you are new to the neighborhood and like to bar hop, there are more than 4 sports bars all along 16th Street near the BART. This makes it convenient to go out with new Castro neighbors and make a night of it any time there is a game on in the neighborhood. In other words, when you see your new neighbor this week, you can ask them to go out to a sports bar in the neighborhood and know you have a selection within walking distance.
