Who got voted off Dancing With The Stars last night? The answer is David Hasselhoff. The former Knight Rider and Baywatch star only scored a combined 15 out of 30 on his Cha Cha Cha dance with partner Kym Johnson on the opening night of competition. Hasselhoff just didn’t seem to move very fluidly in his opening act despite having more time that another bottom dweller(The Situation) to prepare.
Johnson actually flew to Germany to meet Hasselhoff when the two began practice. You can check out the David Hasselhoff performance on Dancing With The Stars here on YouTube. Was it the right choice to vote Hasselhoff off of Dancing With The Stars so early? Maybe many thought “The Hass” was safe because of his popularity-but Hasselhoff was eliminated despite being in the bottom three with Margaret Cho and The Situation of Jersey Shore fame. Were the Dancing With The Stars results surprising then? You can’t say it was surprising considering how awkward Hasselhoff seemed in his opening dance and how low the judges scored him. But fans might have been surprised that he was voted off Dancing With The Stars last night–becoming the first contestant to be eliminated from the competition.
Will the loss of David Hasselhoff hurt Dancing With The Stars? I think it will actually hurt the value of actual humor on the show. David Hasselhoff would have provided a few more laughs in the upcoming weeks–because he is not afraid to laugh at himself. The fact that he was voted off last night on Dancing With The Stars probably indicates that fans of the show either truly thought he was safe or was the actual worst competitor on the show during week one. Typically the bigger name celebrities seem to last longer than they should on DWTS. I kind of thought Cho would be the first to get voted off on Dancing With the Stars last night-so I was kind of shocked that a bigger name celeb like Hasselhoff would find the exit so quickly. It’s not like Hasselhoff had any chance of winning the overall competition-but it would have been very entertaining over the next few weeks to see him either struggle or improve. He would have provided some memorable comedic moments. Instead, now the show is minus a person who would have been entertaining on and off the dance floor. For that, I feel like Hasselhoff was voted off way too early!
