If you missed the America’s Got Talent season finale tonight, you may be wondering who the new America’s Got Talent winner is! AGT finally finished up their 2010 season Wednesday night, after nearly four months of talent being piped into our living rooms every Tuesday and funneled back out Wednesday night.
When the America’s Got Talent winner was announced live by AGT host Nick Cannon, many fans were quite surprised with the results!
Who Is The 2010 America’s Got Talent Winner?
Soulful crooner Michael Grimm is the Season 5 America’s Got Talent winner! The NBC reality competition, which has been on-air for roughly 16 weeks straight now, features a cool million-dollar prize plus headline status on a live national tour, including a show in Vegas.
One-time America’s Got Talent front-runners, Fighting Gravity, seemed a safe bet to win up until recently, with many initially convinced the creative college students with the unique stage act would easily go all the way.
Tonight would not prove to be their night, however, and Fighting Gravity would ultimately not go on to be this year’s America’s Got Talent winner. Though their stage sets seemed to have the words “Las Vegas” blinking in flashing lights above from from their audition forward, sadly their last two performances fell short. This week’s performance didn’t fare them well either, though Fighting Gravity will not likely be without a venue for long.
Prince Poppycock, one of celebrity judge Sharon Osbourne’s favorite performers and an instant celeb in the gay community, was also obviously eliminated tonight. Prince Poppycock is an impressive singer and has tremendous stage command, but apparently wasn’t destined to win this contest; his lukewarm performance on Tuesday night’s show didn’t help him any.
The biggest surprise tonight may have been that Jackie Evancho wasn’t the America’s Got Talent winner. The angelic voice that belongs to that ten year-old girl seemed sure to win her the big money. However, you never can tell about these things, and America proved that when they decided to give the glory to America’s Got Talent winner Michael Grimm instead!
While it appears Jackie Evancho’s raw, natural talent is far greater than Michael Grimm’s (or anyone else’s!), America’s Got Talent winner Michael Grimm just has a certain something. While many may feel the America’s Got Talent winner selection was the wrong one, America has cast its vote.
An America’s Got Talent viewer and fan living in Tucson, AZ, was initially upset when Fighting Gravity was eliminated from the final stage of the competition tonight. However, when singer Michael Grimm ended up winning, the fan said he was satisfied with the results after all. “He’s really very good,” the AGT fan admitted.
What do you think? Do you agree with the America’s Got Talent winner results?
