It used to be that when someone selected T-Mobile for their wireless service provider, they were only doing it to save money. When T-Mobile first came to America, there was nothing about the company that made it stand apart from other companies, except for the fact that the prices were particularly low. Now, this company stands head-to-head with the top wireless providers in America, and they are quickly rising to the top.
I personally prefer T-Mobile to several other carriers, as I have had many, and I will tell you why T-Mobile is so much better in many different aspects.
Customer service is something you may need occasionally when using your phone. Sometimes your phone doesn’t function properly. You may have a question about how to do something on the network with your phone. Questions about billing and what you will be charged to do a certain service often arise as well. When calling the customer service hotline for Sprint, AT&T, or Nextel, you will often get someone who is overseas and you cannot understand their language at all (aside from the painfully annoying hold you will probably get). On each and every occasion that I have contacted T-Mobile customer service, typically about billing or my phone, there have been absolutely no issues. I was not on hold for more than a minute, and the representatives that I spoke with were very fluent in English and in all probability NOT overseas. These people actually know what they’re doing, and they do not need to go to search their computer when you ask them the simplest of questions. Customer service is one of T-Mobile’s strongest advantages against other companies, and it feels good to be covered by them.
Reception is hardly an issue with any carrier in very many areas at all anymore. While T-Mobile has not had nearly as long to establish cell phone towers as almost all of the other providers have, T-Mobile has excelled greatly over the past few years in increasing their reception in more places. I have little to no problem everywhere I travel in the United States with getting service on my T-Mobile MyTouch 3g Slide. I can get 3G outdoor in all cities, and I will get it indoor in a lot of buildings where I am not enclosed in a basement. Wherever T-Mobile does not cover service, one of their roaming partners will cover both calls and data for no additional charge.
When traveling overseas, the majority of other service providers will not cover you. T-Mobile uses SIM cards still, and I believe is the last major American companies that does. This is great, because you can actually use your cell phone when you visit Europe, Asia, and Australia. There is no need to get a separate phone or just not use yours, T-Mobile has you covered!
Beautiful, performance-driven phones are nothing new to T-Mobile. There are many phone options available to T-Mobile customers, and I have never been disappointed with any device I have purchased at the T-Mobile store. I have had messaging phones, smart phones, and basic devices, none of which displeased me in any shape or form. T-Mobile doesn’t have quite as many phones available as some of the other providers out there, but they also do not carry or sell junk.
Pricing is no doubt almost always better when choosing T-Mobile, because they are a newer company. There is no need to even bother comparing pricing to competitors like Verizon and Nextel, because T-Mobile will nearly always win. However, Sprint does have a few plans that compare directly with T-Mobile’s pricing. I’ll let you be the judge of which is the better, though. :)
Insurance is a great option for anyone who tends to be hard on or break phones. The problem is, many providers will charge you a monthly fee for this, and then expect that you pay ridiculous deductibles, or they will not actually cover very many types of damages at all. The great thing about T-Mobile is that they are honest when it comes to describing your insurance, there are no hidden fees, and you will actually be insured if your phone breaks or must be replaced for another reason.
People with poor credit often have a hard time getting cell phones with good plans at a decent rate. T-Mobile actually gives a bonus to people who go with the Flex-Pay option, and this is essentially a pre-pay feature. T-Mobile does not do deposits based on credit, or deposits at all, so you will not need to put down 200-500 extra dollars when you first start just because your credit is poor. Anyone will be approved, and no credit is required.
Overall, T-Mobile is a top-end wireless competitor and is one of the best wireless service providers available in current-day. If you’re looking for a new provider or phone, this is the place to go!
