The Wisconsin Badgers face off against the Austin Peay Governors of Tennessee. Game time will be Noon ET, 11 a.m. local time in Madison. This will be Wisconsin’s final non-conference game before the Badgers start their brutal Big Ten schedule. Austin Peay comes in the decided underdog from the Ohio Valley Conference and the Championship Division. The top-25 Wisconsin Badgers should have no problem even as they barely got by Arizona State last week by a 20-19 score. The weather in Madison at the start time for the game should be cloudy and cool in the mid-50s with a good chance for rain. The game is being broadcast on the Big Ten Network and is the first television action for Austin Peay.
Wisconsin Badgers Season
Wisconsin has been looking to return to prominence in the Big Ten and the country and so far this season they appear to be doing all the right things. The Badgers have two blowout victories to their credit but haven’t run into the Big Ten schedule yet. Next week, Wisconsin goes to Michigan State before the Badgers play two home games in a row to Minnesota and then hosting #2 Ohio State in what will be a true test of the Badgers’ moxie.
The statistics so far don’t look too impressive at this time in the season even though each game that Wisconsin has played hasn’t been overly difficult. It has been a true team effort for the Badgers so far in winning games and scoring touchdowns according to ESPN.
Austin Peay Season
Austin Peay comes into the game one of the average teams of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Governors have lost one game already to Middle Tennessee after being blown out 56-33.
Against the Wisconsin Badgers, Austin Peay shouldn’t put up much of a fight and the second string should play much of the second half. This will be the last non-conference foe for Austin Peay as they continue a decent OVC conference schedule against Tennessee Tech next week. This is the first time Wisconsin has played Austin Peay.
