The rain fell upon the ground during one dark and stormy night. A young writer was sitting at her desk trying to find the words that she needed to produce the story that ran through her head.
Thunder boomed as the evening sky began to darken earlier than usual. The stead y rain began to fall harder as the lights flickered. Thankful that she kept her laptop plugged into the wall so her battery could charge.
Heather unplugged the chord from beneath her desk. Suddenly the lights went out causing her to bump her head on the bottom of her desk. With no lights but the dim laptop light surrounding her room, Heather crawled out from under her desk and laid on her bed wrapped in a thick dark blue blanket. Her pale blue eyes searched the desktop of her computer as she tried to find the file about Tibet that she had been working on.
She clicked on the window to bring up her document and as she did a bright light flashed right outside her window. With the light came a loud thunderous crash.
She saw the glow of the fire that began to form outside of her window. Fear consumed her mind as she thought of her parent’s farm. It would be destroyed by the fires.
Lightning struck the ground one right after the other as she watched out the window. She dropped her laptop off the bed and ran downstairs with her cell phone in her hand.
She ran outside towards the fire only to discover something magical was happening. Words were written upon the ground in fire by the hand of god. Burning in fire were the words Remember Tibet in a hot fury.
As Heather noticed the flames refusing to spread she stood in awe at the words before her. She hit the red button on her phone clearing the call she was about to make to 911 and then began to take pictures.
She submitted the pictures to a local news company and in about an hour the camera crew had arrived at the farm. This phenomenon began to be filmed and throughout the night the fire continued to burn without stopping.
Many other people had gathered around the burning words mesmerized at the miracle that would not stop burning. Flames danced upon the ground and the smoke rose high into the sky sending out a signal to the rest of the city.
As the news was broadcast, the whole world had heard that God wanted people to remember such a precious country. Tibetan hearts were happy and thankful and people who had forgotten about the lost country suddenly remembered.
Good has been done that day. As Heather returned to her laptop a few hours later, she discovered her screen was cracked but she had an amazing story to share with the world that did not know about the fire.
She started typing on her laptop and as she did, thunder crashed in the sky again. Before her a Buddhist monk appeared and bowed to her.
In a heavy Tibetan accent this monk in red and yellow robes spoke. “Thu je che.” He paused to reveal a perfect smile. “Thank you for the kindness you have towards our country.”
At the moment, like the wind he disappeared leaving Heather shocked and out of breath. Her world would be changed forever. Her passion for the cause for Tibet had been fed. The passion within her had grown into a hungry lion seeking its destiny.
