Review of WWE’s Hell in a Cell pay Per View:
U.S. Championship Triple Threat Submissions Count Anywhere Match – The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan vs. John Morrison – This is a match Ole and Gene Anderson would have loved! There were more submission moves than I have seen in a long time. As the match progressed all 3 men fought into the crowd and up the ramp. John Morrison had the Miz in the Texas Cloverleaf and almost ready to submit when Alex Riley saved the day for the Miz. Daniel Bryan then knocked Riley off the ramp and locked Miz in the crossface. The Miz tapped out and Daniel Bryan retains the US championship. Highlights of the match: A bone crushing finale by Miz on Morrison on the concrete floor and a 15 foot lead by Morrison onto the Miz and Daniel Bryan at the top of the ramp.
WWE Champion Randy Orton vs. Sheamus (Hell in a Cell Match) – Orton was the first into the cage as Sheamus threw him in and tried to hit Orton with the steel steps. Orton moved, threw Sheamus into the cage and then connected with the steel steps to the head. Sheamus recovers quickly and front suplexes Orton on the steel steps. Sheamus spends the next several minutes focusing on Orton’s ribs with a series of submission moves. Orton fights out and hits a powerslam and belly to belly suplex. When he goes for the RKO, Sheamus blocks it, kicking Orton in the ribs. Orton DDT’s Sheamus from the ring to the floor. He goes for the RKO but Sheamus throws him into the ring post. Sheamus kicks Orton in the head but Orton kicks out. Sheamus uses a chair to punish Orton but then misses wildly with a shot to the head into an RKO by Orton. Sheamus rolls out of the ring. Orton follows him out and attempts a punt but Sheamus moves and kicks Orton in the head. Sheamus rolls Orton back in the ring and attempts a ‘high cross’ on the chairs but Orton blocks it and RKO’s Sheamus onto the chairs for the pin. Randy Orton retains the WWE Title.
John Cena vs. Wade Barrett – Nexus attempts to get involved early but the WWE roster, led by the Big Show, comes down and disposes of Nexus. Both Barrett and Cena kick out of each other’s moves. Cena has Barrett in the STF when a “fan” tries to run into the ring. Cena breaks the hold to see what is going on and someone else runs up and knocks out Cena and Barrett pins him. This was a pretty cheap and stupid ending to the match.
World Heavyweight Champion Kane vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match) – The Undertaker opened in a flurry and attempted a choke slam but Kane blocked it. Both men traded chock slams and kicked out. Kane pummels the Undertaker in the corner but is hoisted up into the Last Ride. Undertaker goes for a tombstone piledriver but it is reversed by Kane into one on the Undertaker. A kick out at 2. Kane hits the referee. Paul Bearer is chased into the ring by Kane. The Undertaker “sits up” and choke slams Kane. Just as he is about to put the tombstone piledriver on Kane. Paul Bearer stops him and turns on the Undertaker. Kane choke slams him for the win. Kane retains the World Title.
