Plavix also known as clodiprogel is an anti-platelet that is used to prevent the formation of blood clots in patients with previous histories of blood clots and heart attack. Patients who take Zantac together with Plavix may experience several side effects.
1. Stroke and Heart Attack

2. Common Side Effects
According to Drugs.com, patients taking Zantac and Plavix may experience common side effects that diminish with continued usage of the drugs. Common side effects of Zantac include headache, dizziness, cry mouth, dry skin, muscle aches, fatigue, confusion, vertigo, nausea, vomiting, constipation and diarrhea. Common side effects of Plavix include headache, dizziness, fatigue, abnormal heat rate, diarrhea, constipation, nausea and vomiting.
3. Adverse Side Effects
According to Drugs.com, patients taking Zanatc together with Plavix may also experience adverse side effects of both drugs. Adverse side effects of Zantac includes liver inflammation, kidney damage, decreased platelets count, decreased red blood cells, abnormal heart rhythms, inflammation of the pancreas,hives and pneumonia. Adverse side effects of Plavix include intercranial bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding, nose bleeding, fever, sore throat, liver damage and inflammation of the pancreas.
