You’ve got to have these Halloween songs on your playlist if you’re dressing up like a zombie for Halloween. From rock songs about zombies to techno tunes, these little ditties about the undead will make your Halloween party come alive:
“Zombie” by The Cranberries – This is one of the most hypnotic zombie songs you’ll hear on this list. Thanks to Dolores’ deliciously dizzying droning, it’ll definitely get in your head (the same place zombies want to get to).
“Zombie Stomp” by Ozzie Osbourne – And here’s one of the best rock songs to stomp around to on Halloween night. Just put on your best zombie costume; play zombie songs like this one at your Halloween party; and do your best version of the zombie stomp on the dance floor (just make sure your brain doesn’t fall out while you’re doing all that headbanging).
“I, Zombie” by White Zombie – And here’s some hardcore Halloween music for brain lovers to bang their heads to. Who better to give the silent majority of zombies a voice than Rob Zombie? The few lyrics don’t make much sense, but I guess most zombies’ brains were once another zombie’s Halloween treat, so that’s understandable.
“Some Kind of Zombie” by Audio Adrenaline – Parts of this modern zombie tune are lighter and sweeter sounding than the other rock songs here, but this zombifying song goes from having a slightly spooky sound to being downright disturbing. Out of all the zombie songs here, this one is definitely my fear-inducing favorite for Halloween.
“Kernkraft 400” by Zombie Nation – Grab some glow sticks and get down to one of the best techno songs you’ll ever hear about zombies. Well, actually the song just repeats the name of the band over and over again, but the creepy voice that says it and the ghoulishly groovy sound definitely make it work well for a Halloween dance party.
“Eye of the Zombie” by John Fogerty – And here’s a fun, rollicking rock tune about the undead and one of the best songs to play for a Halloween night full of eye-catching zombie costumes.
“Zombie” by Nellie McKay – Ever heard any jazz songs about zombies? This one captures the spirit of the “real” zombies: the kind created with voodoo magic. It’s funky, funny, and a little bit freaky, so be sure to “do the zombie” at your Halloween party.
“Zombie Zoo” by Tom Petty – Like a lot of songs about zombies, this one uses them as a metaphor for something else. In this case, it sounds like Tom Petty is talking about goth girls. It’s also another of the upbeat songs here that combines zombies with dancing, making it perfect for a Halloween party.
“Go Zombie” by Zombie Girl – Another of the great zombie songs brought to us by babes that might be into B-horror movies, this industrial dance tune doubles as an instruction manual: “remove the head; destroy the brain”. So while Justin Bieber might have come from Canada and created a zomBieber army, at least something cool and creepy also came from his country.
“Black Zombie” by Nas – If you want to take a look at something truly dark and disturbing, check out this social statement by Nas. It might not sound like the best song for a Halloween party, but you’ve got to love its message about living in a real horror movie.
So from zombie dance moves to zombie metaphors, the songs here will add just the right touch of fear to your Halloween party this year.
